Two Narratives Of Israel-Lebanon War

There are two competing narratives of the war between Lebanon and Israel, one being promoted by the liberal media, the United Nations and Muslim-majority countries (the “Anti-Israel Camp”), and the other by Israel and its supporters. How each side sees the framework of the war will continue to direct the commentary as the war unfolds.

Anti-Israel Narrative

According to one telling of the story, Hezbollah is a “Lebanese militant group” which is “supported by Iran.” The group attacked Israel on October 7, just after the Hamas massacre, “to show support for its Palestinian ally,” and will stop fighting Israel as soon as there is a “ceasefire agreed to by Hamas.”

In this telling of the events, Israel has opened up a new front against Hezbollah for virtually no reason, as the key to stopping the Hezbollah attacks is to end the fighting in Gaza. Israel’s “ferocious assault on Hezbollah” is not only unwarranted but infuriating the United States President Biden who has sought to confine the fighting to Gaza.

NY Times article bemoaning Israel’s attack on Hezbollah, creating a rift between the U.S. and Israel

Hezbollah is portrayed as only a Lebanese ally of the Palestinian group Hamas, whose mission and intentions are unstated. Israel’s mission is seemingly a folly, destined to repeat the “mistakes the United States made after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.”

Pro-Israel Narrative

The same events are seen very differently by Israel supporters and those who appreciate a truthful account of current events.

Hamas and Hezbollah are U.S. Foreign Terrorist Organizations, backed by the leading state sponsor of terrorism, the Islamic Republic of Iran. Each is a genocidal jihadi group dedicated to destroying the Jewish State and are acting together to try to achieve that aim.

Hamas has majority support of Palestinians, with 58% of parliament. It’s goal to destroy Israel is to enable 6 million Palestinians to overtake the Jewish State. Hezbollah is slightly less popular than Hamas, with 48% of parliament and seeks to expel the 490,000 Stateless Arabs from Palestine (SAPs) who reside in Lebanon to a new state of Palestine.

Israel was attacked by both Iranian proxies of Hamas and Hezbollah on October 7, 2023 and is fighting a defensive war it does not want against each. The threat of Hezbollah is much greater than Hamas, which has an estimated 150,000 missiles aimed at Israel. Over 80,000 Israelis in the north have been internally displaced to the south because of the Hezbollah attacks and ongoing threats.

These narratives are very different. The anti-Israel camp thinks that the United States waged wrongful revenge attacks after 9/11 and Israel is going down the same ill-advised path. But the pro-Israel view is that the American response wasn’t the problem: it waged the war terribly, first by attacking Iraq which was not involved in the 9/11 attacks, and then spending twenty years in Afghanistan fighting a terrorist group that could not pose an existential threat to the US, for the action al Qaeda took on a single day. That dynamic is not remotely similar for Israel fighting two clear and obvious enemies on its borders that are constantly attacking its citizens.

If the reports you consume tell you that Hezbollah is simply helping its beleaguered Gazan allies who are being crushed by the powerful Israeli army against the wishes of the United States, know that you are absorbing a toxic anti-Israel fake account of the just defensive war Israel is waging against genocidal foes next door.

How Many UNRWA Employees Would Have Been Injured In A Hamas Pager Blast?

Around 2,800 members of the Hezbollah terrorist group were injured in an exploding pager incident on September 17, 2024. The tally was almost exclusively Hezbollah militants, as it would appear that the pagers had been purchased by the group some time prior and distributed to its team as a measure to avoid eavesdropping.

One of the injured included the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani.

Scene from video of Hezbollah terrorist shopping in grocery falling to ground after pager explodes

The world has long known that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the major sponsor of Hezbollah, as well as other jihadi terrorist groups like Hamas and the Houthis in Yemen. To see that the involvement of Iran goes beyond sending money and protecting it at the United Nations, but is an integral part of the terrorist militancy is alarming.

But not surprising.

The world saw that many members of the United Nations agency for Palestinian wards, UNRWA, are members of Hamas. It makes one ask how many UNRWA employees would have been injured had similar pagers been distributed by Hamas?

The line between “legitimate” state actors and countries to murderous jihadi groups is blurred. The question is what to do with those “legitimate” agents of death.

The Muslim American Community Gameplan For 2024 Presidential Election Is Beyond 2024

The Muslim American community is a rapidly growing segment of the United States. It is projected to surpass the Jewish community by 2040 and be entrenched as the second largest religious group, estimated to become 8.1 million by 2050, according to Pew Research.

Like the Jewish community, a major consideration in the group’s focus is the Middle East. For Muslims, the region holds the major Islamic centers of Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia, while for Jews it is the Jewish holy land of Israel.

Beyond the sanctity of the land are co-religionists. There are 1.8 billion Muslims, with 50 Muslim-majority countries, with most being in the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region. This compares to just 15 million Jews globally and a single Jewish country, Israel.

Muslim population for Sunni and Shia (dark green), with Israel a dot in the middle

In 2024, several Muslim countries and territories surrounding Israel are waging a war to destroy the Jewish State, and the United States has backed Israel in defending itself. This Iranian Axis-Israel war is weighing heavily on how Muslim Americans are thinking about the 2024 U.S. presidential elections.

The community has long been outraged by former President Trump’s anti-Islamic comments and angered by his strongly pro-Israel actions during his term from 2017 through 2020. Muslims were upset about his cutting funds to Palestinians, placing sanctions on Iran, and normalizing Israel into the Arab Middle East with the Abraham Accords.

But Muslim Americans are also disgusted with the Biden-Harris administration’s support for Israel fighting against Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran. They cannot fathom voting for Harris in the upcoming presidential election, even as they view her more favorably than Trump.

Resigned to the fact that both candidates are not anti-Zionist, a significant part of the community has decided to send a message, and hopefully play spoiler in the upcoming presidential election, in the hope of drawing attention to their position to influence future elections.

The Turkish news site Andalu posted a talk featuring Islamic preachers and members of CAIR, the Council of American Islamic Relations. The discussion called for Muslim Americans to vote for third party candidates like Jill Stein and Cornel West. While they have no chance of winning, the aim is to make the two dominant political parties start to cater to their demands, especially in halting support for the Jewish State.

According to polls released by CAIR, the Muslim vote in Michigan and Wisconsin – two important swing states to securing the presidency – should have an enormous turnout for Stein. Their hope is to show the Democratic party that had they changed policy course on Israel, those votes could have been theirs. The Muslim American community would rather lose the election to Trump whom they despise, to influence the future direction of the Democratic Party, which is already infiltrated by members of the “Squad.”

Middle East Eye report on Muslim Americans

Donald Trump may win a larger percentage of the Jewish vote than any Republican nominee over the past cycles which might make him keep pro-Israel positions, but Muslims have a soft back-up hope that Trump will credit the Muslim community for abandoning Harris to help him secure the presidency.

While the vast majority of Americans don’t focus on foreign affairs as the primary concern in elections beyond the border crisis, the Muslim and Jewish communities are putting the Hamas-Israel war at the top of their list, and each group may tip the scales to Donald Trump for very different reasons. Jews will focus on continuing to support Israel in its war against genocidal jihadists, while Muslims will argue that the U.S. should abandon Israel and foreign policy and funding altogether, to let the Iranian axis devour the sole Jewish State.

The Jewish community is taking a very near-term view of the American presidential election, concerned about the terrible spike in antisemitism in the U.S. and the ring of evil attacking Israel right now. The Muslim community is playing the long game, and is willing to simply place a marker on the table in 2024 that they are an emerging force to be reckoned with.

Hassan Abdel Salam who is a professor at the University of Minnesota heads a group called ‘Abandon Harris

Jews are small in number with a single state and are beset by existential fear, so are pushing for immediate action. Meanwhile, the Muslim world has no existential worries, and can focus on the ultimate prize in which their numbers and power overwhelm American Jews, just as they encircle the Jewish State. In the near-term, they will work to infiltrate the educational system and overtake the Democratic Party to breed a new generation of socialist-jihadists who will normalize anti-Zionism and antisemitism.

It’s called the Insidious Jihad in America and is over five years old now. Imagine where the country will be in five more years.

PinkDirtying

The jihadi-socialist alliance which aims to destroy western democracies is first-and-foremost focused on the Jewish State of Israel. It attempts to mask its deep antisemitism by calling Israel a “European colonial project,” in a sick attempt to strip Jews of their history and heritage in their holy land.

Among the various smears of the antisemitic horde are claims that Israel – and many western countries – engage in a variety causes to shield their deeply racist philosophies. The color-coded lexicon includes “socialist rhetoric around the kibbutzim and labor politics (“redwashing”), environmentalism (“greenwashing”), human rights (“bluewashing”), feminism (“purplewashing”), queer liberation (“pinkwashing”), and religious and ethnic diversity and inclusion (““faithwashing”).” The jihadi-socialists don’t defend the customs of the Islamic countries but simply try to belittle western democracies by ignoring the open societies and focusing on fake charges of “ethnic cleansing” and “genocide.”

Atop the aggressive assaults on liberal democracies like Israel, the anti-West legions accuse any corresponding finger-pointing back at the radical Islamic countries as a form of “Islamophobia” which uses “racist stereotypes about the Arab and Muslim world as exceptionally and irredeemably patriarchal and homophobic.”

First the antisemites claim Jews have no history in the Jewish holy land, then they accuse the country of “genocide” and “pinkwashing” their crimes. They deflect any Jewish protest as a form of Islamophobia. Quite a mental and ethical contortion.

Perhaps the next step for the antisemitic armies will be to wave the banners of THEIR values more clearly, and defend the public hanging of gays as keeping with their strict interpretation of the Quran. They might site the U.S. State Department’s report that Iranian “lesbian and bisexual women are denied full rights as women,” as a source of pride. Palestinian scholars calling for gays to be thrown off rooftops will be quoted in English at the United Nations.

Maybe they will print t-shirts, hoist placards and use megaphones to quote the Iranian penal code sections 108 to 113 which call for the execution of men who commit sodomy.

To date, the socialist-jihadi alliance is in full attack mode against Israel and the West. When we witness the pivot to “PinkDirtying,” we will know that the Globalize the Intifada jihad is underway.

NY Times Is Worried About The Health Of The Leading State Sponsor Of Terrorism

The president of Iran’s helicopter went down in Iran and the New York Times is very worried about the health of the country.

New York Times May 19, 2024

The Times ran a headline that “Iran is confronting a volatile world,” in a complete inversion of facts. The U.S. labels the Islamic Republic of Iran as a leading state sponsor of terrorism, which has caused thousands of deaths around the Middle East. In the Times retelling of history, Iran is a victim of a volatile world as opposed to the chief architect of death and anarchy.

Rather than accompany the headline with a picture of Iran’s vast nuclear weapons infrastructure, the Times opted to post a picture of a calm but nervous man in a clothing store watching television. This is a common theme of the Times which seems to only have pictures of Iranians shopping for stuff, such as when it wrote about Israel being wary of Iran in 2021, featuring a picture of Iranian women shopping.

The article would continue its bizarre reporting style, noting how the country is facing climate change.

The paper ignored the massive number of executions, including the recent hanging of two women.

The Times did get around to discussing Iran backing terrorist groups around the Middle East… sort of.

The Times simply said that Hamas is “the Palestinian group that led the Oct. 7 assault on Israel.” It did not mention that Hamas is a US-designated terrorist group, or that the “assault” included the raping of women, burning families alive and taking hundreds of hostages. It did not even mention the total number of Israelis killed, even while it quickly mentioned the number of Palestinians who have died according to Hamas.

The Times went on to say that Iran supports other armed groups that also act against Israel, failing to mention that the Houthis in Yemen are principally engaged in a civil war destroying Yemen, and also attacks Saudi Arabia and other ships in the Gulf, including American ships.

Alarmingly, the Times went on to say that “Iran is eager to avoid being dragged into an all-out war.” Seriously? “DRAGGED INTO?” Iran is orchestrating the entire bloody mayhem unfolding throughout the Middle East and the Times tells its readers that it is avoiding war at all costs.

The Times leaned into the narrative and tried a bit of trickery in saying that Iran’s launch of hundreds of missiles and drones at Israel in an attack which could have killed thousands of Israeli civilians, was likely designed to fail, absolving Iran of any ill intent or push for war.

For The New York Times, the leading state sponsor of terrorism which has threatened to destroy the Jewish State and is actively building a nuclear weapons arsenal, is a peaceful country facing a volatile region, doing its best to stay out of the fighting. It’s #FakeNews at its most dangerous: shielding terrorists, while lying to the public.

US Bans Iranian Media But Israel Shouldn’t In The Middle Of A War?

On September 15, 2023, the United States Treasury Department sanctioned 29 individuals and companies in Iran. In taking the action, Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Brian Nelson said “As we approach one year since Mahsa Amini’s tragic and senseless death in the custody of Iran’s so-called ‘Morality Police,’ we recall that the movement of men and women across Iran, inclusive of different faiths and ethnic groups, was met with horrific violence, mass incarceration, and systemic internet disruption by the Iranian regime. The United States, alongside the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and our other international allies and partners, will continue to take collective action against those who suppress Iranians’ exercise of their human rights.”

On June 21, 2021, the United States seized 33 websites used by the Iranian Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU) and three websites operated by Kata’ib Hizballah (KH). The Department of State designated KH a Foreign Terrorist Organization. According to Reuters, “the sites seized included Press TV, the Iranian government’s main English-language satellite television channel, and Al Alam, its Arabic-language equivalent. Both came back online using Iranian domain addresses Alalam.ir and Presstv.ir.”

There was no brouhaha about the US actions against the lead state sponsor of terror. American media accepted the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)’s position that “that components of the government of Iran, to include IRTVU and others like it, disguised as news organizations or media outlets, targeted the United States with disinformation campaigns and malign influence operations.”

But the US government and media reveal blatant hypocrisy when it comes to Israel’s actions against Qatar’s Al Jazeera, which Israel is closing after the Qatari-backed terrorist group Hamas savagely massacred 1,200 people in their homes.

The New York Times’ Serge Schmemann wrote an opinion piece on May 7, 2024 that started with “the Israeli government’s decision to kick Al Jazeera out of Israel says more about the government than the TV network.” This is the mantra of the Times: vilify the Israeli government as right-wing fanatics and don’t write about the antisemitic terrorism of Arab Muslims in the region, and their backers.

The piece would go on to belittle Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin’s Netanyahu’s worries about the security threat of Hamas by stating “the network was hostile to the messaging of Netanyahu’s right-wing government.” This is an insane inversion, turning the mouthpiece of a terrorist group which is waging a genocidal war against Israel, into a condemnation of Israel’s “right-wing government.”

New York Times opinion piece on May 7, 2024

Israel is engaged in an active war against a number of terrorist groups supported by Iran, Qatar and Turkey. In addition, roughly 25% of Israel’s population is Arab. It is fully understandable that the country would try to stop the “disinformation campaigns and malign influence operations” of terrorist groups to avoid a multifront war, including from supporters inside of Israel.

When people hold Israel to a wildly different double standard it is the mark of antisemitism. When they do it about a terrorist group in the midst of fighting a genocidal war against the Jewish State, it’s the sign of dangerous antisemite.

The Gaza Red Herring Covering Iran’s Nuclear Breakout

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken made the rounds around the Muslim Middle East and Israel to declare that everyone in the region wants to avoid seeing the Israel-Palestinian War from Gaza spiraling into a regional conflict.

He is completely wrong. It is very much a regional conflict with Iran, and the region wants the Iranian threat addressed.

Secretary Antony Blinken’s X post that countries want the conflict contained

Iran has been actively stoking the conflict for years. The Islamist regime has backed the Houthis in Yemen stoking a civil war there, a war against Saudi Arabia next door, and assaulting shipping in the Red Sea. Iran backs Hezbollah in Lebanon which is shelling Israel. It is also one of the main backers of Hamas in Gaza which launched the sadistic atrocities of October 7.

The United States was on the cusp of brokering a deal with Saudi Arabia before October 7, which would have included the United States bringing the oil-rich nation nuclear capabilities, as the U.S. utterly failed to contain Iran’s nuclear program. Saudi Arabia had long made clear that if Iran got nuclear weapons, it would pursue them as well. The U.S. decided to make the best of a horrific situation, and rather than watch the Saudis secure nuclear blueprints and material from North Korea, it offered to supply the Islamist kingdom with the know-how, provided that the kingdom also normalize relations with Israel.

Iran’s nuclear break-out led directly to Saudi’s launching a nuclear program with America’s assistance.

When Israel called up a fighting force of roughly 350,000 people after October 7, it sent 200,000 of them to the Lebanese border, not Gaza. Roughly 100,000 were stationed around the West Bank to contain the various Hamas-allied terrorist groups like Lion’s Den and Jenin Brigades. The smallest segment went to Gaza.

Similarly, Israel did not only evacuate Israeli civilians from the entire area near Gaza on October 8. It also pulled all civilians away from the Lebanese border.

Israel readied for war on many fronts, not just Gaza, to confront Iranian proxies on every side.

Many Israeli military leaders are pushing to launch the battle against Hezbollah in Lebanon now, while 200,000 troops are stationed at the border and the civilians in the region have been evacuated south. They argue that the Iranian proxy with 150,000 missiles pointed at Israel is a threat which must be dealt with proactively and not according to Iran’s timetable.

This war started from Gaza but the conflict centers around Iran. Blinken may believe that the conflict is local and to be contained as he broadcast, or perhaps – hopefully – he toured the region to prepare for destroying Iran’s nuclear weapons in the very near future.

Islamic and Alt-Left Extremists Declare that Normalization With Zionists Is Against Sharia Law

The Islamic spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, addressed the Muslim world on May 7, 2021 to inspire them to reject any peaceful relations with the Jewish State and its supporters. He said that “Israel is not a state, but a terrorist camp against the Palestinian people and other Muslim peoples” and that “Muslim and Christian scholars must declare that normalization is forbidden by Sharia.” He encouraged Palestinian youth to battle the “usurping entity” and urged the 14 million Palestinians around the world to return to “the Holy Land” to decide “the fate of the [Jewish] foreign settlers.

The focus of this [Muslim] unity should be internal jihad and distrust of enemies. And Palestinian politics should not depend on the main enemy of the Palestinians, namely America, the British and the vile Zionists.

Islamic spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, May 7, 2021

Khamenei concluded his remarks calling for waging war: “The Palestinian Mujahideen [militant jihadists] must ably continue their legitimate and moral struggle against the usurping entity [Israel] until this entity acquiesced [surrenders].

Iranian Ayatollah Khamenei

These sentiments were echoed in California by the San Francisco Executive Director of the Council of American Islamic Relations (CAIR), Zahra Billoo, six months later. While addressing the American Muslims for Palestine conference, she made clear that all Zionists are enemies. “Know your enemies, and I’m not going to sugar-coat that. They are your enemies. There are organizations and infrastructure out there who are working to harm you. Make no mistake of it. They would sell you down the line if they could, and they very often do behind your back. I mean the Zionist organizations, I mean the foreign policy organizations that say they’re not Zionists but want a two-state solution. I’m not a Palestinian myself but it’s my understanding that that is laughable. So know your enemies.” Billoo listed some of them: “We need to pay attention to the Anti-Defamation League. We need to pay attention to the Jewish Federation. We need to pay attention to the Zionist synagogues. We need to pay attention to the Hillel chapters on our campuses. Because just because they’re your friend today, doesn’t mean that they have your back when it comes to human rights. So oppose the vehement fascists but oppose the polite Zionists too. They are not your friends.

Billoo continued that “We have to connect the dots between the organizations that promote Zionist agendas, materials, marketing and legislation are the same ones that want to ban Muslims, are the same ones that want to pass anti-sharia legislation.

CAIR came out strongly to support Billoo’s remarks, stating it “continue[s] to proudly stand by Zahra and all American Muslim leaders who face smears and threats because they dare to express an opinion about Palestinian human rights.

CAIR Executive Director Zahra Billoo addressing American Muslims for Palestine, November 27, 2021

A Massachusetts-based socialist extremist group that stands against “the colonization of Palestine, US imperialism, policing, displacement, and other interlocking systems of oppression” produced an anti-Semitic “Mapping Project,” which embraced the anti-normalization of any Zionist – person or organization. The group falsely claimed that “institutional support for the colonization of Palestine is structurally tied to policing and systemic white supremacy.” It listed names and addresses of organizations like Yachad New England which helps individuals with disabilities. The site called out this aid organization as “complicit in propaganda/normalization of Zionism.” It included Yachad’s address so extremists can easily track down and target disabled Jews.

Amalek would blush.

Socialists have bonded with Islamic extremists in Iran and the United States in calling for a jihad against anyone who supports the rights of Jews to live in the Jewish holy land and to have self-determination. These jihadists are branding Zionists and their supporters as enemies not just to Palestinians, but to the entire world.

Anti-normalization is now enshrined in Sharia and Progressive law, and is coming to a community near you.

80 Years After Wannsee Conference, Arab/Muslim Anti-Semitism Dominates

On January 20, 1942, Germans met in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee to develop the “Final Solution to the Jewish Problem.” The persecution of Jews was already well underway, and on that day, the Nazi regime put into place a program to push the Jews to extinction. They succeeded in wiping out nearly all of the Jews in Europe, about one-third of global Jewry.

Since the end of World War II, the Arab and Muslim world picked up the fight to “the Jewish Problem.”

The Arabs in Palestine were successful in lobbying the British in impeding Jewish immigrants desperate to leave the Holocaust in Europe with the “White Papers”, likely causing well over 100,000 Jewish deaths. The remaining Holocaust survivors landing on the shores of Palestine after World War II were very vulnerable targets. The Palestinian Arabs enlisted the help of neighboring Muslim countries to complete the genocide of the Jews, killing nearly one per cent of the region’s Jews in the 1948-9 Arab-Israeli War. The Arabs then ethnically-cleansed all Jews from the lands they seized, and forbade Jews from visiting their holiest locations in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Angry at the survival of the Jewish nation, Muslim Arab countries purged their Jews. Roughly 99% of the region’s Jews were forced out, an estimated 850,000 Jews, a total which excludes the Jews who fled Afghanistan and Iran.

  • Algeria 140,000
  • Egypt 75,000
  • Iraq 135,000
  • Lebanon 5,000
  • Libya 38,000
  • Morocco 265,000
  • Syria 30,000
  • Tunisia 105,000
  • Yemen 55,000

Arab countries attempted to kill all of the Jews in Israel again in 1967, though they failed spectacularly. Stinging from the loss, the Arab League adopted the Khartoum Resolution which called for “no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel and no negotiations with Israel.” The Arabs soon launched another war against Israel – during Judaism’s holiest day, Yom Kippur – in 1973, while pushing the noxious idea that “Zionism is a form of racism” at the United Nations under the watch of former Nazi, Kurt Waldheim, who was serving as the UN Secretary General.

Meanwhile, Christianity rethought its complicity in the European Holocaust and declared in 1965 that Jews were no more responsible for the death of Jesus than anyone else, and declared clearly that Jews should not be persecuted. Less than 25 years later, the “Iron wall” in the Soviet Union crumbled and allowed thousands of Jewish “refuseniks” to leave the country to Israel and elsewhere.

But the bile in the Arab Muslim world did not let up during this time, even as Egypt made peace with Israel in 1979.

The Palestinians declared themselves to have an independent state in 1988 on all of the land of Israel including the “West Bank” and Gaza, a move which was rejected by much of the western world. At the same time, Hamas introduced its foundational charter calling for the death of Jews and complete destruction of the Jewish State. The group (and other Palestinian terrorist groups) became immensely popular and received funding from Iran and Syria.

Iran and its proxies like Hezbollah, together with Palestinian Arabs, targeted and killed thousands of Jews around the world in the following decades. Iranian leaders have continued to hold Holocaust denial conferences, call for the destruction of Israel and pursue nuclear weapons and long range ballistic missiles.

On the 80th anniversary of the Wannsee Conference, the United Nations approved a resolution condemning Holocaust denial, with only Iran standing in opposition. The story was covered by The New York Times and other media outlets which wrote about the resolution and described today’s prevalent “right-wing” anti-Semitism and completely ignored that the vast majority of anti-Semitism stems from the Islamic world.

Not only will Muslim anti-Semitism not go away by ignoring it, but it may enable the leading state sponsor of terrorism and Holocaust denial to obtain weapons of mass destruction to carry out another genocide of the Jews.

Democrats Run To Countries Advancing Holocaust Denial

The evil of the Holocaust has no comparison. An elected government systematically targeted and killed a defenseless minority in its midst and enlisted its citizens and allies to participate in the atrocity.

The Jews were vilified by the Nazis and deemed guilty, guilty of an ever-evolving list of charges ranging from being dirty and lazy to infecting Aryan purity and stealing precious resources. The verdict was degradation, dehumanization and destruction. The Germans constructed an enormous infrastructure to annihilate the Jews under their sphere of influence, even importing Jews for slaughter.

While Nazi Germany was ultimately defeated in the battlefield, they were largely successful in the genocide of European Jewry. Six million souls were extinguished. World Jewry has still not replenished that number, and the world will never realize the value of their contributions, including those from their unborn descendants.

After the war, the United Nations established the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to address the depravity. It took roughly sixty additional years for the global body to take a stand against Holocaust denial as a critical component to “prevent genocide from occurring again.

But shortly after the UN General Assembly’s adoption of that November 1, 2005 resolution, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called the Holocaust a “myth” and a “fairy tale.” In March 2006 he said

They have fabricated a legend under the name Massacre of the Jews, and they hold it higher than God himself, religion itself and the prophets themselves. If somebody in their country questions God, nobody says anything, but if somebody denies the myth of the massacre of Jews, the Zionist loudspeakers and the governments in the pay of Zionism will start to scream.

In December 2006, Iran hosted a Holocaust denial conference. Speakers included American Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, French Holocaust denier Robert Faurisson and Australian denier Frederick Toben. Coupled with Ahmadinejad’s statements that Israel should be “wiped off the face of the earth,” the tether connecting the denial of genocide and the call for genocide was abundantly clear.

In response to the Iranian screed, in January 2007 the United States advanced a resolution before the UN General Assembly to confirm the November 2005 resolution on Holocaust denial. It called for all countries to “reject any denials of the Holocaust as a historical event, either in full or in part, or any related activities” because “humankind must remember to ensure that such events were never repeated.

Iran used the opportunity at the global platform to continue to attack the Jewish State, stating that “the Israeli regime, [leverages the Holocaust] to exploit past crimes as a pretext to commit new genocide and crimes.” It added that “the Israeli regime had manipulated the sufferings of the Jewish people as a cover for crimes committed against the Palestinians, including ethnic cleansing and State terrorism.  The international community should take strong action against such atrocious crimes,” attempting to turn the victims of genocide into the perpetrators – yet another form of Holocaust denial.

The speaker from Venezuela supported the Iranian position adding that the Holocaust was not unique and the resolution should “cover the deaths of those killed in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, as well as the Palestinian people, who were the victims of excesses perpetrated under the pretext of self-defence and security, as had occurred in November 2006 at Beit Hanoun in the Gaza Strip,” belittling the Holocaust and attempting to keep Israel from protecting itself from terrorism.

The United States condemned the statements and sentiments of Iran and Venezuela at that time. But lately, the US is warming up to both.

The United States had concluded that Iran was developing a secret nuclear weapons program in October 2003 and the Bush Administration initiated an effort to halt it in 2006. The Obama Administration continued those efforts and ultimately reached a deal in 2015 (known as the JCPOA) which simply paused the Iranian nuclear program for a decade, after which time, Iran would have the legal path to nuclear weapons. The Trump Administration pulled out of the JCPOA noting that the leading state sponsor of terrorism and country which called for the destruction of an ally should not have the capabilities to cause nuclear mayhem. Ever.

The Biden Administration disagrees.

In February 2021, the Biden team said it wanted to rejoin the JCPOA and would join the European Union in talks with Iran. It also moved to curtail the sanctions imposed by the Trump Administration.

Several Democratic politicians are also coming to reverse Trump era sanctions imposed on other Holocaust deniers like Venezuela. In March 2021, Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), a member of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, urged Biden to change course on the socialist country. Perhaps not surprisingly, Murphy is also leading the charge (along with Senator Tim Kaine) to pressure Biden to engage with Iran and reenter the JCPOA.

Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT)

On this Holocaust Remembrance Day, call the offices of Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy at (202) 224-4041 and (860) 549-8463 and demand that he stop supporting countries which actively deny and belittle the Holocaust which also seek to promote another genocide of Jews today.
