Jamaal Bowman Wants A Radical Redistribution Of Wealth And Power

Rep. Jamaal Bowman has no idea how to build an economy or how to address the needs of all of the members of his district. He believes that the role of government is to take wealth and power from those he feels have too much, and redistribute it to those he believes deserve it more.

In his address to a crowd for Martin Luther King Day in January he said (1:01) “We need a radical redistribution of political and economic power.” His messaging continues to be to achieve that goal.

Bowman wants to cancel all student debt to Black people, hand $14 trillion in “reparations” to Black descendants of slaves, tax wealth (not only income), defund the police, abolish immigration controls, halt funding wars in foreign countries which he perceives as “white” or wealthy, and push DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) into every facet of the American economy and power structures to strip non-minorities of their wealth and jobs.

Rather than focus on programs and policies which can CREATE wealth for everyone, Bowman calls for seizing it from non-minorities and handing it to the only constituents he wants to serve.

Black people in his district do not believe in Bowman’s antics. Darius Jones, co-founder of the National Black Empowerment Action Fund, mocked Bowman for not doing his job as a legislator to create jobs and enable the economy, voting against Biden’s Infrastructure Bill. Jones chided Bowman for holding back Black people by nixing charter schools and standing with the broken public schools system of which he is an integral part.

Not coincidentally, Bowman is one of the powerful teachers’ unions biggest donor recipients.

Bowman’s crusade is to enact former New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio’s words: “Brothers and sisters, there’s plenty of money in the world. There’s plenty of money in this city. It’s just in the wrong hands,” with a radical redistribution of wealth and power from White people to Black and Brown people in the U.S. and to the Global South.

While the media ponders whether Bowman is deeply anti-Zionists or anti-Jews, they miss the bigger picture: Bowman is anti-White and anti-capitalism, and views Israel and Jews as the nexus of White power and wealth he is targeting. A good deal of them are his own constituents in Westchester County.

Bowman Waits For Permission To Sort-Of Condemn Antisemitism

A raucous crowd of Jew-haters descended on Wall Street in New York City to protest an exhibit about the slaughter of people at the Nova Dance Festival in Israel on October 7, 2023. Some politicians were quick to condemn the vile and vocal antisemitism.

Not so, for members of the alt-left “squad.”

Rep. Mike Lawler (NY-17) had previously attended the exhibit which showed evidence of peaceful music lovers being brutally slaughtered by Palestinian Arab terrorists. At 8:43PM on June 10, the evening of the NYC antisemitic riot, Lawler wrote on X that he was appalled that Jewish Americans were trapped inside the exhibit while an antisemitic mob screamed outside.

A short while later at 10:35PM, Rep. Ritchie Torres (NY-15), joined Lawler in condemning the heinous antisemites who revealed themselves to be “barbaric.”

It took until the following afternoon, on June 11 at 2:41PM, for Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) to condemn the antisemitic rioters.

Only after seeing fellow “squad” member AOC condemn the disgusting antisemitism, did Rep. Jamaal Bowman (NY-16), decide to post something about the vile protestors, at 3:27PM.

Both AOC and Bowman pretended that the “protestors” were really about “peace” and “human dignity” even though the rioters called for another murderous “intifada” and to repeat the atrocities of October 7.

Jihadists in New York City on June 10 with a banner “long live October 7th”

New York City and its suburbs have the greatest number of Jews outside of Israel, in the Jewish diaspora. There are members of Congress in New York who take leadership roles in defending their Jewish constituents, like Reps. Lawler and Torres, and those who protect their attackers, like Reps. AOC and Bowman. The latter practice a jihadi-socialist game called “condemn antisemitism while protecting antisemites,” a dog-whistle to go for the Jews more discreetly.

The Disproportionality of Hate Speech

The size and “power” of Jews is grossly inflated.

While Judaism is described as one of the three great monotheistic religions in the western world, it is a fraction of the size of Christianity and Islam. While Christianity and Islam are universalistic religions which forced or coerced conversions over centuries, Judaism is a particular religion with no such tenet. Consequently, Christians and Muslims number roughly 2.4 billion and 1.9 billion, respectively, spread around the world, while Jews number only about 15 million, found principally in Israel and the United States.

The scale differential is enormous. Consider that if only 10% of Muslims are radical antisemites willing to kill Jews, the 190 million Islamists would be 12 times the entire Jewish population.

There are about 50 Muslim-majority countries in the world, and only a single Jewish-majority country. Even in countries without a Muslim majority, the number of Muslims are growing quickly and dwarf Jews.

The result is that Muslims can voice antisemitic things without fear of reprisals. In Muslim-majority countries, the Quran and Islamic teachings are beyond reproach under blasphemy laws but not non-Islamic faiths. Jews and Judaism can be mocked without any repercussions.

Deborah Samuel was killed and burned by mob after she was accused of blasphemy at Shehu Shagari school in Sokoto, Nigeria

That is becoming more true in Western non-Muslim majority countries as well. People are terrified about drawing a picture of the Islamic prophet Muhammed out of fear of being killed, but will comfortably mock the small minority Jewish population and Judaism aloud publicly.

The sheer size of the Christian and Muslim population and number of Muslim-majority countries, coupled with fear of crossing radical extremists produces a disproportionate volume of hate speech. Whether at the U.N., social media or on college campuses, Islamic privilege insulates the large religions in a way that does not exist for Jews and Judaism.

Some resolutions have been put forward at global bodies which try to afford religious protections.

In 1992, the United Nations adopted the “Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious and Linguistic Minorities.” It was followed in 2011 with UN Human Rights Council 16/18 “Combating intolerance, negative stereotyping and stigmatization of, and discrimination, incitement to violence and violence against, persons based on religion or belief.” More recently in July 2023, the UNHRC passed a resolution introduced by Pakistan to prohibit “desecration of sacred books and religious symbols” after a Quran burning in Sweden. It’s a smattering of protections for people (in 1992), curtailing speech (in 2011) and protection of articles (in 2023).

Many of the sponsors of the resolutions have been Islamic countries. Their desire to protect the sanctity of Islamic holy texts and prophets globally is part of the reason there have been almost no incidents of radical Islamists burning Jewish holy books. Islamists also don’t insult Jewish prophets such as Moses, as Islamists also view them as prophets.

Instead, Islamists come for Jews and the Jewish State. They mock the Holocaust as a fair target of Jewish history, not of Judaism. They state that Jews have no history in the land of Israel, which, while undermining the basic text of the Bible, is viewed as only insulting Jews as people and not the religion itself.

This divide is another element in the disproportionality of hate speech: an intrinsic part of modern antisemitism is to divorce Jews from Judaism. It allows Judaism to be placed among the three great monotheistic religions, even while there are a paltry number of Jews compared to Christians and Muslims. The gap between the understanding of religion and people inflates the fictitious “power” of the handful of Jews, a source of significant hate speech.

On April 11, 2016, the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon said “One of the key warning signs of genocide is the spread of hate speech in public discourse and the media…. And every day, the seeds of future massacres and genocides are being planted… It is essential that Governments, the judiciary and civil society stand firm against hate speech and those who incite division and violence.”

The U.N., social media platforms and antisemitic politicians are themselves enabling and spreading antisemitic hate speech. Everyone can feel the temperature rising for Jews but few are willing to condemn the vile slander.

Jews are a small minority-minority facing a disproportionate number of hate crimes in the United States every year. They also face a disproportionate amount of hate speech, protected by free speech laws in the West, and indifference in the East and global South.

The Diary Of Anne Frank Redux, In The United States Today

Anne Frank was a young teenager living in Amsterdam when the Nazis invaded Holland. She went into hiding in an attic with her family, fearful of genocidal maniacs who roamed the streets. For a few years, she kept a personal diary of her thoughts and how she and her family were living in hiding, before ultimately being discovered and sent to their deaths. Her diary has become an important document read by people around the world about a disgraceful period in human history which began with hatred, lawlessness and fear, and ultimately genocide.

People today – especially young people – live their lives online. With postings on Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok and Facebook, people share their thoughts and activities with friends and strangers.

So when hate and lawlessness come for Jewish youth in the United States today, anyone around the world can see and read the testimony. The brave came to congress to testify about their classmates calling for the genocide of Jews. The unbowed sued their universities for not providing a safe environment. The fighters came onto the public stage and recounted the scourge of antisemitism they experience going to classes.

But they are few. Most young Jews are trying to just experience high school and college. They let teachers’ snide comments about “Jewish baby killers” go by, lest they lose a grade. They don’t report their mezuzahs being torn down at their dorm, pretending they fell on their own. They hide in rooms and skip events and parties with peers who have revealed themselves to be Jew haters.

Some young and older Jews have quietly lobbied for change at schools and local governments. Others have opted for a less forward approach such as writing blogs.

This blog, First One Through, started ten years ago in May 2014 as the Obama Administration was failing to secure a peace deal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority as well as failing to end the Iranian nuclear program. It focused on the terrible media coverage, particularly of The New York Times, in excusing and ignoring any horrible action by the Democratic administration and Islamists, while sparing no vicious ink on the Jewish State.

Over time, the posts captured the media’s antisemitic bias, which included deliberately obfuscating the direct connection between anti-Zionism and antisemitism. It described America’s priorities in fighting racism while ignoring growing Jew hatred. It detailed the moral rot of the United Nations and America’s leading universities.

Over 1,500 articles by a single author over the decade.

While the Shoah Foundation has collected important testimonies of thousands of Holocaust survivors about their recollections of World War II, they are colored by history and age. Anne Frank’s diary gives us something unique: a vision of a world gone mad in real-time, without the perfect hindsight of how the story played out.

We are witnessing Anne Frank in students’ public testimonies and blogs penned by those who prefer the written word. It is imperative to heed their warnings and to take actions to help them and mass of Jewish students in hiding.

And preserve western civilization as we know it.

As The US Reels From Socialist-Jihadi Antisemitism, The NY Times Tells Readers That Republicans Are The Antisemites

The uptick in antisemitic hate crimes in the United States is at all-time terrifying highs. Since the October 7, 2023 brutal slaughter by Palestinian Arabs from Gaza of roughly 1,200 people in Israel, radical Muslim and far-left socialists have been celebrating the torture of Jews and promising to bring the “intifada” to the streets and campuses of the U.S.

The heinous antisemitism is promoted and supported by alt-left Muslim women in congress like Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) who has called Jews the sinister plotters “behind the curtains” that kill Black and Brown people “from Gaza to Detroit,” and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) who says that there are only two types of Jews: “pro-genocide or anti-genocide.” But The New York Times is trying to defend its own rather than cover the news, so is sticking with a narrative that antisemitism only exists among Republicans.

On the front page of the May 12, 2024 paper, The Times published an article titled “The Antisemitic Tropes Echoed by Republicans.” It continued on with a full two-page spread inside, complete with charts and graphics under the banner “How Republicans Echo Antisemitic Tropes.” Both headlines had sub-headers that were clear that the “declared support for Jews” was a ruse to get their votes.

For good measure, the paper added another article about the Orthodox Jewish governor of Pennsylvania. It made sure to add that he’s “A Rising Pro-Israel Democrat” in the headline.

The Times has long promoted the idea that only White people can really be racists and antisemitic, as other minorities are simply “punching up” and trying to succeed. If a Black preacher like Louis Farrakhan shouts clearly vile antisemitic things, the Democratic establishment says nothing and the Times buries the story, lest Black Americans turn on the party.

Antisemitism is not limited to the Democratic Party but it has become deeply embedded in the left flank “Squad.” Mainstream media is worried that Jews will abandon their comrades in an election year, so is spinning narratives that Jews must stay loyal to the party despite the rot, and keep lunatics like Jamaal Bowman in office.

Jewish Americans see and feel the hatred, as well as the poorly constructed cover-ups by left-wing anti-Jewish and anti-Israel media.

Palestinians Use Jewish Temple Mount To Incite Riot On International Al Quds Day

The Israeli government once again allowed tens of thousand of Muslim Arabs onto the Jewish Temple Mount / al Aqsa Compound during Friday prayers of Ramadan on April 5, 2024. The reported 65,000 Muslims who came to pray dwarfed the 50,000 Jews who visited the site OVER THE ENTIRE YEAR OF 2023, none of whom were allowed to pray at Judaism’s holiest site.

Despite Israel allowing access for tens of thousands of Muslims to pray at the site, eight people were arrested on charges of inciting terrorism to the crowd. According to sources, Arabs were shouting “In spirit and blood we will redeem you al-Aqsa.”

The Israeli police were out in force as many Muslims declared the last Friday of Ramadan to be “International Al Quds Day.”

The police noted that the Arab Muslims were all residents of Israel in a statement which said “these vile instigators and supporters of terrorism are residents of the State of Israel who take advantage of a religious occasion and use a holy place of prayer for incitement and support for terrorism and terrorists.”

Despite the problem arising from ISRAELI Arabs, the Palestinian Authority and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) weighed in.

According to the official PA news site Wafa, the OIC condemned Israel for the situation. OIC claimed that thousands of Muslims were prevented from visiting the site and decried the arrest of worshippers. Wafa added that the OIC “slammed such restrictions and assault as a flagrant violation of international laws and norms and called upon the international community to oblige Israel, the occupying power, to halt all recurrent violations of the freedom of worship and desecration of the holy sites while stressing the need to preserve the longstanding historical and legal status at the mosque.”

The statement is a farce on so many levels.

Firstly, “the need to preserve the longstanding historical and legal status quo” of banning Jewish prayer at Judaism’s holiest site while also demanding “freedom of worship” are in direct conflict. At least, as it relates to Jews.

Secondly, Israel allowed more Muslims to the site on a single morning than all Jews have been able to visit their holiest site during the entire year. Still, the OIC lambasted Israel preventing some Muslim radicals from visiting the site and inciting violence. Freedom to visit and pray must be limited to those who don’t advocate violence, and that includes banning agitators and facilitating the entry of tens of thousands of peaceful Jews onto the holy platform.

Third, the arrests were of Israeli Arabs, not Palestinians. Why did the PA issue statements about an internal matter? Is it because it not only believes that Israel has no rights in Jerusalem and the Temple Mount despite it agreeing to such in the Oslo Accords, but also believes that there are no such things as Israeli Arabs because Israel is illegitimate?

As Jews celebrate Passover, one of the three central holidays in Judaism in which Jews are called to visit the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem, one cannot find a single article about Jews visiting their holiest site. The media lockdown is meant to keep tensions down as Israel continues to prosecute its defensive war against the political-terrorist group Hamas.

During Ramadan, Israel allows hundreds of thousands of Muslims onto the Temple Mount for prayers, some who shouted about killing Jews in an attempt to start a global jihad. On Passover, an unknown (but certainly very small) contingent of Jews visit the site and no one hears a single thing lest Muslims become angered.

Such is Islamic privilege: the ability for massive Muslim pilgrimage to the Temple Mount complete with antisemitic chants, while a paltry number of Jews silently visit the site, lest Muslims become upset. There is no equality or dignity for Jews, as made abundantly clear over Ramadan and Passover 2024.

It’s Jewish: Kosher, Bris, Menorah, Mikvah, Land of Israel

Kosher food is eaten by Jews and non-Jews. Some Jews don’t eat kosher food and prefer non-kosher items. But “kosher” is definitely Jewish, as defined in the Bible outlining which foods are permissible and not permissible for Jews.

Many Jewish men get circumcised at eight days old in a “bris.” A small percentage of Jewish boys are not circumcised because the parents do not like the custom. But a “bris” is definitely Jewish, a commandment laid out in the Bible.

Many Jewish homes have a menorah as do many synagogues. They are lit on the holiday of Chanukah per rabbinic tradition. Some Jews do not own or light a menorah, but it is definitely a Jewish religious article.

Religious married Jewish women go to a ritual bath, a “mikvah,” once a month. Most Jewish women are not Orthodox or do not have regular menstrual cycles and do not visit the mikvah. But a mikvah is definitely a Jewish bath and has been for thousands of years.

Roughly 45% of world Jewry lives in the land of Israel, while the majority do not live there. But the land of Israel is central to Judaism, the “promised land” to the Jewish forefathers of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and their descendants. It is central to the Jewish Bible and for Jews for 3,700 years.

Jews visiting the Jewish Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem

Whether a person keeps kosher, had a bris, visits a mikvah, lights a menorah, or lives in the land of Israel, has nothing to do with those items being integral parts of Judaism. Similarly, a person may never read the Talmud, but such action is irrelevant to the tractates inherently being a fabric of Jewish tradition.

So when a Jewish person says Jews shouldn’t live in Israel, it doesn’t negate that the land of Israel is central to Judaism; it just means that that particular person doesn’t believe it.

The next time you see members of Neturei Karta yelling that Zionism is terrible and the Jewish State should be destroyed, whisper in their ears that you are working to ban kosher meat and circumcision in America, as a gentle reminder that just because they may not appreciate how some people express their Judaism, they shouldn’t fight to ban it for others.

Members of ultra-Orthodox Neturei Karta protesting a march combating antisemitism, January 2020 (photo: First One Through)

The land of Israel, the city of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount are deeply Jewish locations and have been for thousands of years. It makes absolutely no difference what any Jew or non-Jew says, and whether they are one side or the other of the Israeli-Hamas war. Parading “AsAJews” who fight against Zionism before cameras does nothing to negate the reality that Israel is an essential component of Judaism, much like keeping kosher and a bris.

The magnification of fringe anti-Jewish views held by Jews is a noxious tool used by Jew-haters to splinter the beleaguered minority-minority to become easier fodder for extinction. Shame on the media for making a deliberate point of doing so in these days of toxic antisemitism.

Will People Advocating For Equal Rights In A One State Solution Promote Jewish Prayer And A Jewish Temple On The Temple Mount?

People debate the meaning of the phrase “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free.” Many believe it to be a genocidal chant to destroy the Jewish State of Israel and kill the Jews living there, echoing the stated intentions of the political-terrorist group Hamas. Others have said that it is simply a call for all people to live in the area to be free, in a democratic binational state (although neither Israelis nor Palestinian Arabs want such outcome according to polls).

Perhaps an easy way to decipher whether people yelling “Free Palestine” are pro-Hamas or pro-Palestinian is to ask their opinion about whether all people should have dignity and rights in the land. Specifically, do they support Jews being able to pray openly in mass at their holiest site of the Jewish Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem? Would they further support rebuilding a Jewish Temple on the site?

Currently, Jews are denied the basic human right to pray at their holiest site because radical Islamists like Hamas demand that the site be a purely Islamic site. If the chanters want to disassociate themselves from the genocidal charter, and advocate for mutual dignity and rights, they should add another chant “All over the Temple Mount, Jewish prayer will abound!”

Failure to actively support full Jewish rights throughout the Old City of Jerusalem and especially on the Temple Mount, marks the chanters of “Free Palestine” as backers of a U.S.-designated foreign terrorist organization and supporting the destruction of an ally. Those people should face the full ramifications of supporting such genocidal killers.

Israeli-Arab Conflict For Americans In March 2024

Pew Research conducted a poll of Americans in February 2024 about the current Gaza War. There are number of findings worth flagging.

Americans side with Israel. Roughly 58% of Americans think that Israel is right to go after Hamas, while 49% think that Hamas has few if any valid reasons to fight Israel. An astonishing 28% had no opinion on the matter.

A wide majority of 73% of Americans think that Hamas’s approach to fighting the war is unacceptable, arguably way too few considering the savage butchery of the Palestinian army burning families alive. There is no real consensus about Israel’s handling of the war with 38%, 34% and 26% saying that they approve, disapprove or have no opinion of Israel’s actions in Gaza.

Jews and Protestants versus Muslims, Secular Americans and Blacks. The poll examined people’s attitudes in the war by religion. Jews and Protestants aligned in their perspectives with 77%, 71% and 55% of Jews, White Evangelical Protestants and White Protestants, respectively, believing that Hamas had no valid reason for attacking Israel. The percentages who believe that Israel is just in fighting Palestinian Arabs is 89%, 74% and 69%, for those same groups respectively.

Muslims had polar opposite reactions, closely followed by secular Americans and Blacks. A sickening 49% of Muslims believe that Hamas had a valid reason for committing the October 7 massacre (and 21% support he way it carried out the attacks), followed by secular Americans and Blacks with 33% and 19% endorsement of the terror. Those groups also believe that Israel is not correct in fighting Hamas, with 54%, 24% and 18% of Muslims, seculars and Blacks, respectively, contesting Israel’s motivations.

Young Americans Support Hamas. The gap between Muslims and Jews is as wide as it is between the young and older Americans.

People over 65 years old think that Israel has a valid reason to pursue Hamas, by 78% to 6%. The percentages among 18 to 29 year-olds is only 38% to 27%. As alarming, the 65+ cohort believes by a 4-to-1 ratio that Hamas has no valid reason to fight Israel, while more young people think Hamas has a valid reason to fight Israel. A sickening 9% of young people believe that the way Hamas carried out the October 7 massacre was appropriate, and 14% have a positive view of Hamas. They are the only age group to have more positive feelings towards Palestinian people than Israelis.

Republicans support Israel’s military. Along with the gap in attitudes among age groups and religions are political leanings. Republicans are twice as likely to support providing military aid to Israel (50% to 25%). Democrats are almost twice as likely to support humanitarian aid for Gazans (66% to 35%).

Generally, among those who completely side with Israelis, Republicans outnumber Democrats by 7-to1. Among those who totally support Palestinians, Democrats outnumber Republicans by 8-to-1.

Jews are more divided than Muslims. Muslim Americans are much more fully supportive of Palestinian Arabs, with no positive feelings towards Jews. Almost half – 45% – of American Muslims only support Palestinians while Jews are more divided in loyalty, with only 28% totally committed towards Israel. Jews have the highest share of empathy for all parties in the conflict compared to all other religions.

Limited knowledge amongst Blacks and young people. Not surprisingly, American Jews and Muslims are the most knowledgeable about the war, with Jews by far the most knowledgeable, as 45% of global Jewry lives in Israel, and most Jews are directly connected to the region. Blacks, those 18-to-29 and without a college degree were very ignorant about the regional players and current situation.

CONCLUSION

There is a divide in America regarding Israel and Palestinian Arabs. On one side are Jews, older Americans, Protestants and college educated people who support Israel. On the other, are Muslims, atheists, Blacks, young people and the uneducated who favor Palestinians.

Zionists must do a much better job in educating the world on social media and in high schools, as today’s youth and secular society is frighteningly siding with radical jihadists.

Defeat ‘Outside Money’ Bowman

Rep. Jamaal Bowman has earned a number of nicknames over his time in Congress. Some call him ‘Fire Alarm’ Bowman for infamously pulling a fire alarm to delay a House vote. Others calls him ‘Censured’ Bowman’ for being censured by a bipartisan Congress, while others call him ‘Blowhard’ Bowman for constantly race-baiting Republicans in calling them Nazis as well as mentally and emotionally deficient to understand people of color.

The latest earned moniker is ‘Outside Money’ Bowman, as he has utterly failed to raise money from inside his district so is now focused on collecting money from extremists around the country and from radical Islamic regimes.

For the period ending December 31, 2023, Westchester County Executive George Latimer raised $1.4 million while Bowman couldn’t even raise $700,000. While Latimer raised 73% of his money from inside his district, Bowman only could muster 9 per cent.

Bowman has therefore decided to team up with the worst antisemites and far-left and jihadi radicals to raise money for his campaign.

Bowman’s first stop was to align his campaign with the worst antisemite in Congress, Rep. Rashia Tlaib who has accused Jews of making money off of racism in both the United States and Israel. Tlaib is running unopposed so plans to funnel money she gets into Bowman’s pockets.

Bowman is now actively jumping into the deep anti-Israel cesspool with a group called ‘Reject AIPAC’ that is calling Israel an ‘apartheid’ state built on ‘colonialism’ committing a ‘genocide’ of Palestinians. The group is attempting to shield the political-terrorist group Hamas and the rest of the Palestinian army from defeat so it can commit more atrocities against civilians in Israel.

The ‘Reject Israel’ supporters include the extremist fringe of anti-Zionists including Justice Democrats, Jewish Voice for Peace Action, IfNotNow, Working Families Party, Sunrise Movement, MPower Change Action Fund, Democratic Socialists of America, Our Revolution, Peace Action, National Iranian American Council, and Gen-Z for Change.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer has a long history of delivering for his constituents in NY congressional District 16 and has a grassroots campaign of locals who respect him. The incumbent has virtually no base, and is relying on radical groups from around the country and Iran to buy an election.
