The New York Times Absolves United Nations-Hamas Gaza Partnership And Lambasts Israel For Hungry Gazans

The United Nations’ operation in Gaza is almost completely staffed by local Arabs. Since Hamas’s takeover of the coastal strip in 2007, UNRWA, the UN agency which runs schools and hospitals in the area, have operated in tandem with Hamas. The school circula is approved by the US-designated terrorist group and its facilities operate with Hamas’s oversight.

After Hamas invaded Israel on October 7, 2023 and butchered 1,200 people, Israel sought to bring the perpetrators to justice, to save the 250 hostages stolen by the Gazans militant groups, and ensure that the terrorist groups could never attack again, as they had promised to do.

As Israel has been decimating Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and other terrorist groups and their infrastructure in Gaza, local armed Arab gangs have been stealing aid being delivered into the strip.

The New York Times blames Israel for making Gazans hungry.

When nearly 100 trucks were seized by local Arab gangs in November, the NYTimes refused to state clearly that Palestinian militants were stealing the aid and placed the blame on Israel. In a December 23, 2024 article, the Times finally made clear that armed Gazans were stealing the aid but still placed the onus on Israel.

December 23, 2024 New York Times article about looting in Gaza

The article squarely put blame on Israel for: 1) its “bombardment and invasion of Gaza”; 2) its limiting flow of goods around Gaza; and 3) not putting a new government in charge of Gaza.

How absurd.

Hamas launched the invasion, not Israel. Hamas took hundreds of captives into Gaza, demanding Israel’s counter-invasion. Hamas’s history of importing and moving vast weapons of war and terrorists around Gaza necessitates Israel’s control of goods and people.

And it is the Palestinian Authority that is supposed to govern Gaza, not Israel. The world demands that Israel leave the strip so how does it simultaneously demand that its should put in place a new government?

The Times shared that UNRWA decided that it would no longer deliver aid through one of the major entry points into Gaza, and that relief is piling up at the crossings. It acknowledged that the Gaza police force is an arm of Hamas but they are rarely seen in Gaza these days.

The Times inadvertently highlighted the farce of the entire situation stating that “The United Nations does not allow Israeli soldiers to protect aid convoys, fearing that would compromise its [the UN’s] neutrality.” Unsaid, is that only under the protection of Hamas and other Gazan terrorist groups can UNRWA operate freely, showing that the UN group has always been extremely biased.

The article moved beyond the lawless areas without Hamas or Hamas’s police ruling the area to sectors “fully controlled by the Israeli military. UN agencies have been able to avoid looters and deliver some relief.” However, not enough according to the UN: “‘There is continued tolerance by the Israel Defense Forces of unacceptable amounts of looting.”

According to the article, Israel is responsible for the entire situation in Gaza. Not the Gazans who are doing the actual looting. Not Hamas which refuses every ceasefire and to return all the hostages. Not UNRWA, the joint venture between the United Nations and Hamas, which teaches Gazans that Israel is an illegal entity which should be destroyed and replaced with a purely Arab Palestine.

UNRWA collapsed because Hamas is defeated. Local Arab gangs steal humanitarian relief because Iran, Turkey and others have been smuggling in vast amount of weaponry into the region, despite the official Israeli and Egyptian blockade of the terrorist enclave.

Gazans are hungry today DESPITE the efforts of Israel, and because of the toxic policies of the United Nations and local Arab warlords for the past decades.

Gazan UNRWA Nears Collapse

UNRWA, the United Nations agency that uniquely is for Palestinian refugees (all of the world’s other refugees are handles by UNHCR) and that is uniquely only staffed by members of that group (99% of UNRWA employees are local Palestinians while UNHCR is staffed by UN employees hailing from many countries), decided to suspend its aid delivery activities in Gaza. It blamed the suspension on “criminal activity” and the inability to protect the “humanitarians” who deliver aid.

UNRWA’s European masks for the Gazan group do not call out that the “criminal activity” is from local Palestinian Arab gangs, just as they do not mention that UNRWA Gaza principally consists of Hamas and Islamic Jihad members, allies and family members. Instead, the “humanitarian” group blames Israel for the suspension of activity.

For over a year, Israel has been stating that much of the flow of goods by UNRWA has gone to Hamas fighters, and now that the terrorist group has lost control of the region, by various armed gangs. Rather than acknowledge that the UN agency was corrupt at the outset and ineffective now, the UN is asking Israel to prop up the corrupt regime. Instead of closing UNRWA in Gaza and handing full control to Israel, the UN is asking Israel to protect the quasi-terrorist agency in its mission of fomenting perpetual Arab hatred of Jews.

The head of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, insists on the farce. He calls UNRWA “irreplaceable” even though the institution is fundamentally flawed. Now that it is exposed as not only corrupt but incapacitated, the global agency once again dutifully follows its blinders and focuses blame on Israel.

UNRWA teaches its students to hate and kill Jews. Its mission is to destroy the Jewish State and relocate millions of Stateless Arabs from Palestine (SAPs) into Israel. It funnels billions of dollars of global charity to terrorists and their enablers. And now that a severely weakened Hamas cannot coordinate with its joint venture partners inside UNRWA, the UN has lashed out at its nemesis, Israel.

As the antisemitic genocidal jihadist group of Hamas disintegrates, unsurprisingly, so does Gazan UNRWA. Amidst the war which Hamas started, its joint venture partner of the United Nations has the vulgar chutzpah to now ask Israel to protect and assist the group.

It is time for the civilized world to demand UNRWA be shut down.

Palestinian Authority Demands That UN Come Clean On UNRWA

Israel announced that it was not going to allow UNRWA, the United Nations Refugee and Works Agency, to continue to operate from its territory. The United Nations came down hard on Israel, including UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, as well as members of the UN Security Council.

Guterres has always stood by the “humanitarian” group which he has called an “indispensable” “lifeline” and force for “stability” and “hope for a better future.” He urged global support for the group as “an investment in peace.”

The media has chosen sides as to whether UNRWA has some terrorists among its staff and whether the humanitarian group can continue to operate in Gaza amidst the war.

Meanwhile, Israel’s ambassador to the UN mocked Guterres who mourned the elimination of an UNRWA terrorist employee in a back-and-forth about the agency’s staff.

Lost in the discussion was that the Palestinian Authority has curiously welcomed the attention, and has asked the United Nations to make clear that the entire mission of the UNRWA is to facilitate the “right of return” of millions of stateless Arabs into homes where grandparents lived in Israel.

The “humanitarian work” of the decades-old temporary agency is besides the point.

The staff is not the topic.

The MISSION of UNRWA is to move millions of Arabs into Israel against the Jewish State’s wishes. UNRWA schools teach their Muslim students that there is no path to coexistence but to wiping out the Jews and reclaiming all of “Palestine.”

UNRWA student talks about killing all the Jews

Even those young UNRWA students who don’t talk about a genocide of Jews, still say that their future is in grandparents’ homes in Israel, even if they are compensated for ancestors’ lost property.

UNRWA student talks about killing all the Jews

Blind to reality, UNSG Guterres describes UNRWA schools as a place to “learn about democracy, human rights & tolerance, preparing them to be exemplary citizens,” in Israel? in Palestine? How does instilling vile antisemitism into Muslim children prepare them for peaceful coexistence with Jews?

UNSG Guterres posts about UNRWA schools in April 2019

Much of the discussion about UNRWA is whether ten or 100 or 1,000 employees are terrorists, and whether that is a disqualification for continued operations. The inherent problem with UNRWA is its mission as the UN’s operating tool to dismantle the Jewish State. The Palestinian Authority wants the UN to state it clearly for the entire world to hear.

How Many UNRWA Employees Would Have Been Injured In A Hamas Pager Blast?

Around 2,800 members of the Hezbollah terrorist group were injured in an exploding pager incident on September 17, 2024. The tally was almost exclusively Hezbollah militants, as it would appear that the pagers had been purchased by the group some time prior and distributed to its team as a measure to avoid eavesdropping.

One of the injured included the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani.

Scene from video of Hezbollah terrorist shopping in grocery falling to ground after pager explodes

The world has long known that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the major sponsor of Hezbollah, as well as other jihadi terrorist groups like Hamas and the Houthis in Yemen. To see that the involvement of Iran goes beyond sending money and protecting it at the United Nations, but is an integral part of the terrorist militancy is alarming.

But not surprising.

The world saw that many members of the United Nations agency for Palestinian wards, UNRWA, are members of Hamas. It makes one ask how many UNRWA employees would have been injured had similar pagers been distributed by Hamas?

The line between “legitimate” state actors and countries to murderous jihadi groups is blurred. The question is what to do with those “legitimate” agents of death.

Two-Faced UNRWA

UNRWA, the special dedicated agency devoted to the descendants of Palestinian Arabs who left Israel, markets itself to the world as a humanitarian agency. It claims that Israel spreads disinformation about its work and attempts to portray the agency as a partner of the genocidal political-terrorist group Hamas, when it is just trying to care for unsettled Arabs.

The two faces of UNRWA were on display on May 14, 2024, as Israel celebrated its 76th birthday amid the war with Hamas in Gaza.

UNRWA’s website related stories of a death of a staff member in Gaza and “arson at UNRWA’s East Jerusalem office.” The article described how “Israeli extremists” were protesting and vandalizing UNRWA offices and intimidating the staff. Meanwhile, Palestinian Arabs who were seeking “shelter and safety in UNRWA schools” only found blown out buildings.

What UNRWA failed to report on that same day was that Hamas soldiers were embedded in its infrastructure, including its schools and hospitals.

As reported in other non-United Nations news sources, on May 14, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) “struck a Hamas command center embedded in a school in Gaza run by” UNRWA. The attack on a “Hamas war room” inside an UNRWA facility killed “at least 15 terrorists.” The building was in “Nuseirat, about 15 miles away from Rafah“, where the IDF is preparing to root out the last four Hamas battalions

It begs a question as to who is really supplying the “misinformation and disinformation, including about [UNRWA’s] staff and operations,” Israel or UNRWA itself?

Stop Genocide. Destroy Hamas

Pundits throw around a phrase that one cannot use a military or force to destroy an ideology.

That’s true. But irrelevant.

Hate and evil movements will never disappear from mankind as long as there are more than three people in the world.

There are still Nazis alive today but they don’t control a government, an army or a territory. As such, the grotesque ideology directly impacts few people.

The evil of ISIL was sharply curtailed when their developing “caliphate” was defeated. It was accomplished by several countries coming together to lay waste to their military, not by sitting down and trying to placate their “grievances.”

That’s the goal with Hamas, the evil government that rules the Gaza Strip. Together with various other jihadi militant groups like Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Hamas spends their efforts instilling antisemitism into their schools and building a military infrastructure to destroy Israel. That control must be ended.

There is one way to stop genocide in the near-term: destroy Hamas’s ability to do battle and hold territory.

To reduce the probability of another war in the region in the longer-term, the United Nations and Saudi Arabia must clearly state that there is no right of return of Palestinian refugees and their descendants into Israel. None.

Shortly thereafter, UNRWA should be deconstructed whereby the facilities administered by UNRWA in the West Bank and Gaza are transferred to the Palestinian Authority, those in Jordan are handed to the government of Jordan, and those in Lebanon and Syria are transferred to the global refugee agency, UNHCR.

To stop genocide, the world should work with Israel to move civilians out of harm’s way, and empower the Israeli military to dismantle Hamas’s ability to fight and govern again.

Jordan’s Hypocrisy: Queen Rania on Palestinians and UNRWA

After UNRWA

People are trying to figure out what to do with UNRWA, the troubled United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees. The organization has long perpetuated the Arab-Israeli conflict, fomenting hatred for Jews in its schools, and promising millions of Arabs that their future is in Israeli towns and villages where grandparents who had wished for the destruction of the Jewish State once lived.

The temporary agency is funded by voluntary contributions from UN member states, so can be dissolved very quickly, as was always intended. The issue at the moment is that the hospitals and schools still need to operate, with or without the existence of UNRWA. The five regions where UNRWA operates – Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon – all have different dynamics, politics and infrastructure, and the future will be different for each.

The best solution is for UNRWA to be dissolved and its personnel and infrastructure to be handed to proper authorities: operations in Lebanon and Syria would shift to the UNHCR, the UN Refugee agency; Jordanian operations to the government of Jordan; and operations in the West Bank and Gaza to the Palestinian Authority, in a staged process.

Syria and Lebanon to UNHCR

There are approximately 581,000 descendants of 1948 Palestinian Arabs in Syria being cared for by UNRWA in 2022, and another 93,000 people for whom the agency also gives free services. The numbers are 487,000 and 70,000 in Lebanon for refugee descendants and other wards, respectively. All of them have been denied citizenship by their host countries.

These people and the associated infrastructure should be handed over immediately to UNHCR which cares for over 89 million people as of 2022. UNHCR would try to settle the 1.23 million people either in those host countries or find them citizenship elsewhere, just as it does with millions of other stateless people.

Jordan

Jordan was part of the original Palestine Mandate of 1922, and England separated the land east of the Jordan River to become a new country known as Transjordan in 1923. After Transjordan attacked Israel at its founding and illegally seized the eastern part of what remained of Palestine, it illegally annexed that land and renamed itself “Jordan.” It ethnically cleansed all Jews from the region, including eastern Jerusalem, and granted citizenship to everyone in 1954, as they long as they weren’t Jewish (Nationality Law Article 3).

Not surprisingly with such deep history with the land “between the River and the Sea,” roughly half of Jordan is “Palestinian”, approximately 2.6 million people including Queen Rania. These “UNRWA refugees” in Jordan have Jordanian citizenship and have zero need to collect global charity under the false notion that they are stateless and lack self-determination.

The schools and hospitals should be transferred to the government of Jordan’s control immediately. Some countries may want to continue to voluntarily contribute to the Jordanian king for some time to help absorb the hit to the country’s budget, and then slowly wean the king from the global money teat.

West Bank to the Palestinian Authority

Palestinians declared a state in 1988, and most non-western countries have recognized its independence. It is ruled by the Palestinian Authority, which elected a president from the Fatah Party in 2005 and a parliament in 2006 with a majority from Hamas.

The PA operates from the West Bank city of Ramallah and has responsibility for the vast majority of Palestinian Arabs living in the West Bank. The Authority is viewed as weak and corrupt by Palestinians and others. It supplies money to terrorists and their families in a program alternatively called a Martyrs’ Fund / Pay-to-Slay program, which is popular amongst Palestinians and detested by civil societies for directly supporting terror. The PA has failed on all fronts, not being able to show the ability to govern internally nor to advance a future of coexistence with the Jewish State.

Alas, it’s much better than the alternative Hamas which has ruled in Gaza since 2007 when it seized control of the region from the PA. Perhaps with greater focus on good governance with western oversight, the PA can be reformed.

Handing the 96 schools and 43 health facilities operating in the West Bank to the PA should happen immediately. Funding for the operations should cover only six to nine months and a cohort of countries led by the United States, which is UNRWA’s principle benefactor, should use the time to stabilize the transition. That includes ensuring that no hatred for Jews or teaching about the destruction of Israel is found anywhere in the facilities or educational materials.

Continued funding for the schools and hospitals after the initial transition period should be captured under the United States Taylor Force Act. Just as the PA is denied getting any US monies as long as it pays terrorist salaries in the Pay-to-Slay program, it would also lose funding that used to come through UNRWA for the schools and hospitals. The historic backdoor circumventing American laws would be sealed closed, and the US and PA would need to work together to ensure that supporting terrorism comes to a definitive end for any monetary support to come to the PA.

Gaza, At Some Point, to the Palestinian Authority

While UNRWA’s West Bank operations should move to the PA immediately, UNRWA in Gaza is a different story. Not only must the PA prove it can absorb the many facilities and cleanse them of their toxic hatred, the PA will be tested as to whether it can take control of Gaza after 17 years of Hamas rule.

Hamas’s complete rule of Gaza since 2007 brought the region complete destruction. It focused all of its energies on building a war infrastructure to destroy the Jewish State next door, rather than build a functioning economy and society. It left the schools and hospitals for the world to fund and run, so cared little about letting them get destroyed while its leaders hid like cowards underground.

Neither Hamas nor the PA can take over the rebuilding of the schools and health care facilities. Over the next several years, another global cohort, perhaps similar to the one easing the UNRWA transition in the West Bank, should be tasked with building institutions anew. Basic humanitarian values and rights must be incorporated into the very foundations to chart a path for a future when the PA may be able to take over Gaza as well as the new former-UNRWA infrastructure.

UNRWA camp with a keyhole and key on top symbolizing the false promise that through UNRWA, Palestinian Arabs will get to move into homes in Israel

These actions, if properly executed, should empower and moderate a new Palestinian Authority which can take over Gaza at some point, and ultimately negotiate peace with Israel.

The first step in ending the Arab-Israel conflict is for the United Nations and Saudi Arabia to clearly state that there is NO RIGHT OF RETURN FOR PALESTINIANS TO GO TO GRANDPARENTS’ HOMES IN ISRAEL. Immediately thereafter, the dismantling of UNRWA should commence.

There is a pathway to coexistence, and it must be built on truths and respect which Arabs and Jews fully acknowledge and internalize.

Relief Inequity in Gaza

The images of death and destruction in Gaza are terrible. The cruelty of Hamas’s leaders of letting the population suffer while refusing to surrender and instead hiding in tunnels underground, is a shocking display of cowardice that will be marked by generations of orphans.

Gaza ruins

Many countries are trying to figure out a way to bring humanitarian supplies to the civilians of Gaza without the food and medical supplies being rerouted to the Hamas political-terrorist group which has directed the atrocities. The arguments about whether UNRWA is best qualified to handle the situation as they have existing facilities and personnel in Gaza bypasses a critical and fundamental matter.

Why should descendants of Palestinian “refugees” from 75 years ago get better medical treatment and access to food during this war than regular Gazans?

There are a few hundred thousand regular Palestinian Arabs who have lived in Gaza for generations. They are just as injured and displaced as their “refugee” neighbors who have been living next to them for the past 75 years. Will the United Nations only supply food and medicine to those who call themselves “refugees” while letting other Gazans go hungry?

The crux of the situation in Gaza is a humanitarian crisis, not a refugee crisis. It should be handled by the Red Cross which is best equipped to enter war zones and remain neutral.

UNRWA is a toxic organization which has fomented hatred and discontent which led directly to the October 7 massacre. Its mission, budget and staff are vehicles designed to end the Jewish state. It causes emergencies, it doesn’t address them.

All emergency relief for Gaza should be handled by the International Red Cross as a matter of efficiency, neutrality and equity. Showing preferences for the grandchildren of refugees is a mockery of humanity and shows the ongoing perverted nature of the United Nations in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

UNRWA Is Hamas’s Iron Dome

‘Shield’ is an English word which is both a noun and a verb. As a verb, it means to protect something, and as a noun, it means an emblem that represents an organization.

UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees, acts and is Hamas’s shield.

In attempting to root out the Hamas political-terrorist group from Gaza which committed savage butchery of Israelis on October 7 in line with its antisemitic genocidal charter, Israeli troops entered and dug around UNRWA schools, hospitals and administrative buildings. It found incontrovertible proof that UNRWA is part of the Hamas war machine against Israel.

Hamas not only stores weapons in UNRWA locations, it deliberately locates its command centers under UNRWA facilities to keep the IDF from bombing it. While Israel developed an iron dome defense system which uses technology to shoot down Hamas rockets targeting Israeli civilians, Hamas uses UNRWA to protect its military infrastructure in Gaza.

In New York City, where the thin veneer of UNRWA’s 100 or so Europeans cover the fact that the rest of UNRWA’s 30,000-member staff are local Palestinian Arabs, the well-dressed leaders of the “humanitarian” agency defend Hamas to its voluntary donor countries. UNRWA talking heads appeal to countries assembled at the once-respected UN halls and attempt to deflect attention from UNRWA’s complicity and participation in the sickening and sadistic attacks on innocent Jewish civilians.

The dozen-plus member of Hamas that participated in the cruelty were dismissed as a few rogue employees. The 3,000 Hamas teachers that celebrated the massacre on Telegram were ignored. Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on occupied Palestinian territories, said (5:35) in the immediate aftermath of October 7 that “you Palestinians are always questioned, second-guessed, misinterpreted and defamed.”

Finally, many countries are looking at the plain evidence and can no longer turn away from UNRWA’s ongoing flimsy protection of vicious murderers. The UNRWA misdirection campaign which attempted to tug heart-strings is unraveling, and moral countries have begun to halt their donations to the agency which is complicit in the ongoing genocidal actions against a member state.

Unbowed, UNRWA continues to appeal directly to individuals donors on social media, hoping that they don’t read the news or despise Jews and the Jewish State to fund the UNRWA-Hamas front.

UNRWA campaign on Facebook, February 2024

UNRWA is not simply trying to defend itself against the mounting evidence of working hand-in-glove with Hamas to keep the money flowing to 30,000 Palestinian employees of the organization as well as to keep the lights on in hospitals and schools. As the world sees that UNRWA is not a neutral party, the agency loses all aspects of immunity. Its locations can be raided and bombed and its officers charged alongside Hamas with crimes against humanity.

The entire United Nations knows its on a sinking ship and is throwing the heaviest burdens overboard (firing the dozen October 7 murderers) and is spinning wild and unbelievable narratives. UNRWA is in a fight for its survival and will not pause in lying boldly and repeatedly that it is a humanitarian group that at worst is woefully ignorant and inept.

UNRWA acts as a shield FOR Hamas in Gaza, and a shield OF Hamas at the United Nations. The end of Hamas in Gaza must be coupled with the end of UNRWA at the UN.

The Farce of UNRWA Funding

In 2022, UNRWA raised $1.175 billion, quite a haul. Of that money, $751 million came from designated programs while the balance was raised in emergency appeals.

The biggest donors by far were western countries, seemingly overcome with guilt that Palestinian Arabs haven’t been successful yet in destroying Israel.

Country2022 Contribution$ per Citizen
United States$344 million$1.01
Germany$202 million$2.43
European Union$114 million
Sweden$61 million$5.87
Norway$34 million$6.30
Japan$30 million$0.24
France$29 million$0.43
Saudi Arabia$27 million$0.75
Switzerland$26 million$2.99
Turkey$25 million$0.29
Top 10 donors to UNRWA in 2022

The Scandinavian countries of Norway and Sweden were by far the most drawn to UNRWA. Not only were they among the top ten donor countries, they far exceeded all countries on a per capita contribution – 20 times as much at Turkey.

There were only two Muslim countries in the top 10 donors, one of which isn’t Arab. Despite the trillions of petrol dollars coming from the Gulf, most countries couldn’t be bothered with sending money to UNRWA.

Some of the largest Muslim countries in the world – Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Malaysia – gave a grand total of $459,000. The total population of those four countries is 708.2 million, meaning each person gave UNRWA an average of $0.0006. Egypt, abutting Gaza with about 85 million Muslims, didn’t send a single dollar.

Consider the countries hosting UNRWA facilities including Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and “Palestine” which is not recognized by most of UNRWA’s major donors. Each only contributed “in-kind,” essentially meaning giving office space to UNRWA for free.

It’s not as though Iran doesn’t give money to Palestinians, or Qatar limits its funding to the $10.5 million it contributed in 2022. It just sends the money directly to the political-terrorist group Hamas without the pitstop at the UN.

While the United Nations might sound global, it’s funded by western democracies while serving the “global South” and agendas of dictatorships and Islamic regimes (DIRs), including 50 Muslim-majority countries. Those DIRs channel western dupes’ monies to their causes via the UN, while simultaneously directly funding the more radical parts of their agendas.

The western world is complicit in funding the fungible farce. While it knows full well that Palestinians favor terrorism and want the destruction of Israel, it sends “humanitarian” money for education and health services through the United Nations, knowing that the military component is funded directly by DIRs.

It must stop. #ShutUNRWA
