The State of Florida has advanced a bill that would restrict the education of sexual orientation to children below third grade “in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.” LGBT+ activists and Democratic politicians coined it the “Don’t Say ‘Gay’” to mock the bill as something draconian. The tag line has caught on in the media and is drumming up support to oppose the bill.
Noting the success of the powerful – albeit non-factual – slogan, other politicians are looking to coin similar phrases to gather support to fight legislation viewed as extremist.
On January 22, 2019, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law the ‘Reproductive Health Act’ that was pushed by New York’s Democratic politicians, which decriminalized abortion up to the moment of birth. Republicans were unable to block the infanticide bill as they did not have a catchy jingle. They are now considering billing it as the “Don’t Say ‘Baby'” law, in an unoriginal copy of the “Don’t Say ‘Gay'” catchphrase.
NY State Senator Liz Krueger (D, WF-Manhattan East Side) who sponsored the ‘Reproductive Health Act’ which made the abortion-until-birth bill seem less than extreme.
In Virginia, Republicans introduced a bill to allow children taught in private schools or at home to participate in after-school programs of public schools. Democrats do not want to afford privileges to these students who are disproportionately White, religious, conservative and headed by two parents. For years, they called these bills the “Tim Tebow” bills after the religious football player who was homeschooled and later played in the NFL. As more states are passing these bills (Virginia shot it down), people are forgetting who Tim Tebow is, and more Hispanics are opting for homeschooling (26% of homeschooled students in 2016, up from 9% in 1999), Democrats are worried about society abandoning public school education so are trying to rename the legislation. Current working names are “Robbing Public After School Programs,” “1% School Theft Bill,” “Church’s Cake-And-Eat-It-Too Bill,” “Shloimy Stealing Your Kid’s Saxophone Bill.”
The advertising industry is excited about politicians fighting for public attention all day on every front, albeit worried that the jaundiced press is giving free air time in echoing the taglines of the parties.
On Thursday, New York State began its push to facilitate the sale and distribution of recently legalized marijuana. The initial licenses to sell pot will go to people convicted of a marijuana offense. The former criminals are not only getting passed convictions wiped off the books, but a chance to develop a business before corporations enter the business.
In advocating for the criminals-first policy, NY Pot Czar, Chris Alexander said “These are individuals who come from certain communities. It may have been the case that they were thrown up against the wall, and asked to empty their pockets, and produced a small amount of marijuana, and were saddled with a misdemeanor conviction that has been with them up until 2021.”
New York Governor Kathy Hochul added that these first 100 to 200 licenses will create “jobs and opportunity for communities that have been left out and left behind. I’m proud New York will be a national model for the safe, equitable and inclusive industry we are now building.” Hochul plans on giving away $200 million in startup grants and loans for marijuana sellers who are women or minorities, struggling farmers and disabled veterans. While she didn’t say it directly, White men with college degrees and jobs will be excluded.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul
Looking to build on the popularity of legalizing activities that impacted minority communities, Hochul is pushing to legalize prostitution in New York. Minorities are disproportionately involved in the trade and have been subject to trafficking and abuse. Legalizing the activity would not only help end the trafficking practice but enable minority women to become small business owners.
Hochul is considering giving prostitutes who were convicted of a crime the first licenses for up to 500 legal brothels in the state. She is backing it up with $500 million in grants to help the prostitutes acquire property for the business and for marketing. It is assumed that White men will be excluded from being able to receive tax-payer backed grants.
If these initiatives are successful, Hochul may wipe out the convictions of people convicted of graffiti and giving them lucrative state painting contracts.
Henry Ford was a brilliant industrialist and vile anti-Semite. The founder of the Ford Motor Company which developed a blueprint for the modern assembly line, was also the architect of spreading anti-Semitic conspiracy theories around the United States.
Ford purchased a struggling paper called The Dearborn Independent in 1919, not long after the end of World War I. Ford believed that Jews were behind the war in an effort to profit, a scheme he lifted from the noxious forgery, Protocols of the Elders of Zion which was published in 1905. He used his paper to advance that theory to the world.
Ford was very vocal about his views. He said “I know who caused the war: German-Jewish bankers,” and “What I oppose most is the international Jewish money power that is met in every war. That is what I oppose – a power that has no country and that can order the young men of all countries out to death.”
The Dearborn Independent continued to publish vile conspiracy theories through 1927. During its run, it became the second most circulated paper. It can never be known how many Americans were infected by the paper’s anti-Semitism, and the influence it had in the government’s decision to keep European Jews from reaching safe haven in the United States as they fled the Holocaust. Perhaps it even influenced Adolf Hitler himself.
One hundred years later, The New York Times is seemingly intent on picking up Ford’s mantle.
The paper hasn’t officially written about the “international Jew” promoting wars to make a profit, yet. However, it has been very active in advancing the careers of peddlers of such disgraceful anti-Semitism.
On March 5, 2022, the Times published a massive 5,100-word story about Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan called “What Rashida Tlaib Represents.” The story said – eighteen times – that she has pressed for Palestinian “rights.” In only one place did the article say she was “controversial” when some congressmen “suggested” she was peddling anti-Semitic theories.
The Times has still never shared with its readers Tlaib’s August 2021 presentation when she stated directly her incarnation of the “international Jew” who profits off wars and the labor of others. Addressing her socialist comrades, she said:
“You know I always tell people that cutting people off from water is violence, and they do it from Gaza to Detroit, and it’s a way to control people, to oppress people. And it’s those structures that we continue to fight against. I know you all understand the structure we’ve been living under right now is designed by those who exploit the rest of us, for their own profit. I always say to people ‘I don’t care if it’s around the issue of global human rights, and our fight to free Palestine, or to pushing back against those who don’t believe in a minimum wage or those who believe we don’t have a right to healthcare and so much more.’ And I tell those same people, that if you open the curtain andlook behind the curtain, it’s the same people who make money and—yes they do—off of racism, off of these broken policies. There is someone there making money and you saw it, it was so exposed during the pandemic…. They made record profit.”
Congress did not vote to censure Tlaib, and the Democratic Party did not strip her of any committees for peddling anti-Semitic conspiracy theories. She was given a complete pass.
For the Times, the discussion of money is the obsession of Tlaib’s opponents. A quick search for dollar signs in the article showcases eight of them – almost all regarding Israel’s military and monies spent against her in her Democratic primary. There was no mention of her raising over $4 million in her last election run – over 100 times more than her opponent.
The New York Times published one of its longest articles of the year promoting the anti-Semitic politician Rashida Tlaib who disgustingly preaches about Jewish bankers supposedly scheming for profit off the backs of the poor. Much like The Dearborn Independent helped prime society for the Holocaust of European Jews, The New York Times is readying the world for a class war against rich Jews and the end to the Jewish State.
On March 5, 2022, there will be races in Brooklyn, NY and Washington, DC to raise money for the mental health of the children in Gaza. Unfortunately, the fundraiser is to promote mental and emotional dysfunction.
Promotion for “Gaza 5K” run in Prospect Park, Brooklyn
The Gaza 5K race is sponsored by UNRWA, the Palestinian-political agency that masquerades as a global humanitarian organization. The fundraiser aims to raise $350,000 to:
“Your fundraising can enable UNRWA to employ mental health counselors recruited locally from the Palestine refugee population. UNRWA counselors provide psychosocial support to address the mental health needs of refugee children and families in Gaza. The people of Gaza suffer from trauma due to repeated Israeli military assaults and the continued blockade. Counseling offers kids in Gaza a safe space to express their emotions and fears and a way to learn valuable coping skills.“
Almost the entire UNRWA staff of 29,000 are local Palestinian Arabs. To say that the counselors are “recruited locally” serves to further the lie that UNRWA is run by a bunch of peace-loving Europeans, and these counselors are an aberration.
These days, as people watch over a million people flee the war in Ukraine, as well as the wars in Syria and Afghanistan, it is shameful to use the concocted phrase Palestinian “refugee children.” These kids aren’t fleeing a war zone. They, their parents and their grandparents were all born in Gaza. They live next to cousins – many, who are not refugees – with the same language and culture. The fact that their great-grandparents lived for a few years about 20 miles away in what is now Israel does not make them refugees.
Further, the “repeated Israeli military assaults and the continued blockade” are in REACTION to the aggressive goals and tactics of the Gaza leadership. The political-terrorist group Hamas that runs Gaza is a genocidal anti-Semitic group that has repeatedly engaged in crimes against humanity in their attacks on Israeli civilians. UNRWA’s distortion reverses cause-and-effect and therefore, perpetrator-and-victim.
Further, the lie once again proves that UNRWA is not a humanitarian aid agency that simply seeks to simply provide healthcare and education to Gaza’s youth, but a charged anti-Israel political group.
The children of Gaza do need mental health counselors – to deal with their society that instills hatred for Jews and women.
Gaza is one of the worst places in the world for “honor killings,” in which family members kill a woman in the family that brings shame to the family “honor.” Palestinian courts routinely give a pass to family members who engage in the heinous act.
Consider the mental health of a Palestinian child who participates in the killing of his sister, and is celebrated by the community.
Hamas runs summer camps for children where they are taught to make “sacrifices” in the war against Israel. These child soldiers are as young as 10 years old. A spokesperson for the terrorist defended the practice saying “The Al-Qassam Brigades has organized the Vanguard of Liberation camps for over ten years, as it believes that the youth have a significant role and that it has a responsibility towards the generation that all sides are trying to tempt and divert their attention from their cause and priorities.”

Girl schools in Palestinian territories are named after Dalal al-Mugrahbi, a terrorist who killed 37 Israeli civilians, including a niece of a U.S. senator and 13 children in the infamous Coastal Road Massacre in 1978.
Yehuda DimentmanIn February 2022, Palestinian Authority TV airs ethnic cleansing comments of daughter of Palestinian terrorist who shot and killed unarmed Israeli in December 2021.
Consider the mental health of a Palestinian child who is brainwashed that killing Jews is a cause to be celebrated.
UNRWA is a disgraceful anti-peace organization disguised as a humanitarian agency. If you are at the UNRWA 5K race on Saturday, wear an Israeli flag to demand radical changes in the UNRWA-HAMAS alliance.
In his effort to be “politically correct,” United Nations Secretary General Antonio Gutterres is completely off mark as it relates to vaccinations for COVID-19.
On February 28, 2022, Guterres spoke to the Human Rights Council that portrayed the fight for human rights as a problem of wealthy nations exploiting poorer countries. It’s a dangerous and naive sentiment which harms people everywhere.
“The pandemic is a clear demonstration of the universality and indivisibility of all human rights — civil, political, social, economic and cultural. The vulnerable and marginalized continue to suffer most. High-income countries have administered 13 times more doses per person than low-income countries. Vaccine inequality demonstrates an utter disregard for the human rights of entire countries and regions…. the unequal recovery from the pandemic has revealed the moral bankruptcy of our global financial system. That system has failed to protect the rights of millions of people in the global South. The pandemic has squeezed developing economies dry.“
This statement is a purely political one and cannot stand to the light of truth for a world trying to deal with a serious healthcare situation. Guterres attacked wealthy nations and accused them of “utter disregard” for poorer countries.
The fact is that COVID-19 was by-and-large a wealthy virus. The world’s poorest nations had very few deaths from the pandemic.
The global average number of deaths from COVID-19 was 768 per million as of March 2, 2022. The poorest nations came nowhere near that rate of death. The pandemic wreaked havoc in eastern Europe, with Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Georgia, Croatia, Czechia, Slovakia and Romania each having between 3,300 and 5,200 deaths per 1 million, a rate roughly 75 times suffered by the poorest countries. Consider that the GNI per capita of Bulgaria is $9,540, or 35 times that of Burundi ($270), while the rate of death is 1,731 times as high (5,194 to 3 per 1 million population).
Why condemn the wealthier countries which developed the vaccine that have populations dying at much higher rates, for not shipping off all the vaccines to poorer countries where the people are barely impacted by the virus? It’s nonsensical on a factual level, and insidious on a political level.
The dishonest and dangerous socialist worldview is permeating the United Nations, condemning the rich, dying Europeans and demanding a transfer of wealth and work product to poorer African countries.
Guterres continued on this theme when he condemned wealthy countries for causing climate change for which the poorer nations pay the price, saying “a few countries are trampling on the rights of the rest of the world. A few companies are reaping rich rewards, while ignoring the rights of the poorest and most vulnerable.“
While it is true that wealthy countries have factories and industry that cause pollution, the vast majority of the global problem is caused by a single country, China, with more than 10,065 million tons of CO2 released or as much as the United States, India, Russia and Japan combined. But the small wealthy island of Bermuda (presumably very impacted by climate change) is 11 times as wealthy as polluting China ($117,740 versus $10,610). Iceland is 7 times as wealthy as Russia ($72,930 versus $10,690), and Ireland is 33 times as wealth as India ($63,470 versus $1,900).
Secretary-General Antonio Guterres speaks during the High Level Segment of the 37th Session of the Human Rights Council. 26 February 2018.
Guterres used incendiary language for wealthy countries calling out “utter disregard for the human rights of entire countries and regions” and “the moral bankruptcy of our global financial system,” but couldn’t utter a negative word to China regarding its vast human rights abuses including the detention of Uyghurs, the suppression of basic human rights of expression and freedom of the press.
The UN Secretary General went to the Human Rights Council (which includes some of the worst human rights abusing countries such as China, Cuba, Russia, Somalia and Venezuela), to condemn wealth rather than human rights abuses. In doing so, he absolved the poor autocracies that crush individual rights, echoing the socialist call for a global “class war.“
J Street markets itself as “the political home of pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans” in an effort to make someone believe that its primary goal is supporting Israel. The group dismissed criticisms when it advocated against the desires of the Israeli government in supporting the Iran nuclear deal and condemning Jews living in the “West Bank” as simply opposing particular Israeli policies. It really didn’t have a response when it effectively lobbied the Obama administration to allow the anti-Israel United Nations Security Resolution 2334 to pass.
As the “pro-Israel” veneer washed away long ago, it has freed the group to become unabashedly pro-Progressive, pouring money AGAINST pro-Israel candidates in favor of extreme leftists.
Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX28) has proven many times that he understands Israel and supports the democratic Jewish State. On February 1, 2022, he tweeted in response to the false libels of the Amnesty report on Israel “Israel is not an apartheid state. Full stop. These inaccuracies incite antisemitic behavior against the Jewish people. Lies that incite violence, but do nothing to help the Palestinian people. Let’s work together, not tear each other down.“
In December 2021, he co-authored a letter to Secretary of State Blinken to take a tough stand against Iran as it continued to pursue nuclear weapons. In sharing the letter, Cuellar said “We cannot let an aggressive actor threaten Israel—our strongest ally in the Middle East.“
It is therefore not a surprise that Cuellar has received endorsements from many pro-Israel organizations like Pro-Israel America.
For progressive groups who do not care about Israel or are actively hostile to Israel, the primary lens is simply that he is too moderate.
Justice Democrats, the far-left group behind Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) poured money into the campaign of his primary challenger, Jessica Cisneros. She’s received endorsements from far left politicians including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) and AOC. The Sunshine Group – which gained infamy for its DC Chapter boycotting the presence of Zionist groups advocating for voting rights – also backs her.
Rep. AOC stumping for far left wing candidate Jessica Cisneros in Texas to unseat moderate Democrat Henry Cuellar
Other far left-wing groups actively hostile to Israel also back Cisneros. The list includes Move On and The Working Families Party, which pushed politicians to boycott the pro-Israel AIPAC conference. Daily Kos, a left wing media outlet which equated the Palestinian political-terrorist group HAMAS which calls for killing Israelis and the destruction of Israel, and Israel’s Likud as “Two despicable organizations,” also supports Cisneros.
Joining the list of alt-left wing groups – many anti-Israel – in endorsing Cisneros is J Street PAC. J Street is spending $100,000 in digital ads to help Cisneros defeat Cuellar in the Democratic primary on March 1, 2022. To put that sum in context, J Street spent $272,000 nationally in getting Joe Biden elected president in 2020.
Consider that Cisneros hasn’t said a single word about Israel. Her “Issues” list doesn’t mention Israel or the Middle East.
Yet J Street, which markets itself as primarily concerned with Israel is putting a huge amount of money behind someone who has no opinions on Israel, and against a moderate Democratic politician who staunchly supports the Jewish State.
J Street is a progressive PAC first and foremost, which thinks nothing of standing alongside left wing groups that despise Israel. In backing Cisneros in Texas, it is proving again that the organization has nothing to do with being pro-Israel.
The Democratic Party has tried to become a “big tent” that welcomes all types of views into its ranks. As it has done so, it has given extremists positions of power and influence.
In February, New York State completed its redistricting. As part of the hustle-shuffle, the Democratic Party moved the pro-Israel community of Riverdale out of Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s district and into the progressive pro-Israel district of Rep. Ritchie Torres. In doing so, it helped boost support of Torres and keep Bowman from possibly losing his seat.
It also enabled Bowman to lean into the anti-Israel bile of his comrades in the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
Immediately after the Democrats expunged the vocal pro-Israel constituency from his district, Bowman withdrew his support of the Abraham Accords, which established diplomatic and trade relations between Israel and the countries of Sudan, Bahrain, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates. One can expect Bowman to shortly echo his fellow anarchists with calls to defund the police and pushing schools to advocate Critical Race Theory.
Another member of the DSA extremist group who is elevated by the Democratic Party is Rashida Tlaib (D-MI). The notorious anti-Semite will be given the microphone to deliver a speech after President Biden – a fellow Democrat – delivers his state of the union address. The only other time that a member of a party gave a reply to the SOTU by a fellow party member was last year when Bowman did it.
Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) incites anti-Semitism in the same manner as Nazis, and is given committee assignments by the Democratic Party
The Democratic Party has similarly shielded Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), despite her repeatedly using anti-Semitic tropes. Rather than rebuke her, they condemned those who pointed out the obvious as ‘Islamophobes,’ and continued to let her sit on important committees.
The Democrats can continue to shout about former President Trump all day, but they should get crushed in the next elections if they continue to give platforms to radical politicians who proudly shout anti-Semitic venom and extremist policies.
“The Great Replacement” theory posits that White people are being replaced by non-White people in western countries including in Europe and the United States. The Anti-Defamation League asserts that its roots come from Europe roughly 100 years ago, and returned in 2011 in an article by French writer Renaud Camus. With the influx of Arabs from Africa and the Middle East into Europe and the United States in 2014 and 2015 due to the “Arab Spring,” various civil wars and rise of ISIS, the proposition gathered a considerable number of followers.
Among the far-right, Jews are considered far left progressives who are helping to bring in these foreigners. In the August 2017 “Unite the Right” rally, marchers chanted “Jews will not replace us,” not as a chant that the insignificant number of Jews could possibly outnumber White Christians, but as historian Deborah Lipstadt says, advanced the premise of the notorious forgery “Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” that Jews are behind a global conspiracy for world domination and use various puppets to achieve their aims.
Among the far-left, Jews are portrayed as far too represented in positions of power. They point to the number of Jews in Congress, on the Supreme Court, as CEOs and owners of companies and sports teams. The alt-left progressives assert that Jews are White and are among the “ownership class” (Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers) who operate “behind the curtain… [to] make money off of racism.” (Rep. Rashida Tlaib).
In this vortex of anti-Semitism, the far right and left are actively replacing Jews.
Consider the Supreme Court.
The liberal media is very excited that President Biden nominated a liberal Black woman to the court and informed its readership that White males make up one-third of the country but accounted for 94% of Supreme Court judges. This is a diversionary tactic of going back 200-plus years in time to make a point. A more relevant statistic would have been comparing the racial composition of judges since 1965, which is certainly much lower than 94% White males. Even more, it will likely show that the number of Jews far exceeds the their current size of 2% of the U.S. population. A disproportionate number of Jews are in law school so it is not surprising that a disproportionate percentage become judges and senators (most are former lawyers).
But current actions of both Republicans and Democrats are scrubbing Jews from the top bench.
Stephen Breyer (Jewish) is being replaced in 2022 by a Black woman, possibly Ketanji Brown Jackson, because Biden said “for too long, our government and our courts haven’t looked like America.“
Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Jewish) was replaced in 2020 by Amy Coney Barrett, a devout Catholic.
Merrick Garland (Jewish) was blocked from being considered for the court in 2016 as Republicans delayed the confirmation process until after the election to secure a conservative seat which went to Neil Gorsuch, a Protestant.
Elana Kagan is now the only Jew on the current Supreme Court, appointed in 2010.
While the Supreme Court could have had four Jews sitting at one time in 2016 with Breyer, Ginsburg, Garland and Kagan, there will now be only a single Jew on the highest court.
The Supreme Court in 2016 with three Jewish justices was ready to have a fourth (Merrick Garland). Due to Republican and Democratic actions, in 2022, there will only be a single Jew (Elana Kagan).
This dynamic is playing out in elected offices as well.
In 2022, there are ten Jewish senators, or ten percent of the senate, seemingly a large percentage. But the numbers are shrinking and likely going to continue to shrink.
Carl Levin (D-MI) died last year and replaced by a non-Jew, Gary Peters
Barbara Boxer (D-CA) seat is now held by Alex Padilla
Arlen Spector (R-PA) died in 2011 and his seat is held by Pat Toomey
Joe Lieberman (I-CT) left office in 2013 and was replaced by Chris Murphy
Al Franken (D-MN) left office in 2017 and was replaced by Tina Smith
Since 2011, there have been four Jews elected to the Senate: Richard Blumenthal (D-CT); Brian Schatz (D-HI); Jacky Rosen (D-NV); and Jon Ossoff (D-GA). Meanwhile, seven Jews have left: Spector; Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ); Herb Kohl (D-WI); Lieberman; Boxer; Russ Feingold (D-WI); and Franken. That’s a net loss of 23 percent.
The same has happened in Congress. Once reliable “Jewish seats” have gone to Black progressives. Eliot Engel (D-NY) was replaced by Jamaal Bowman (D). Nita Lowey (D-NY) was replaced with Mondaire Jones (D).
The Jews that remain are often mum on Jewish issues in the hopes of keeping their jobs.
Other Jewish politicians live in fear of their lives. Craig Greenberg, a Jewish Democratic candidate for mayor of Louisville, KY was shot at by a Black Lives Matter radical in February 2022. The would-be assassin was released less than 48 hours later after the radical group posted bail for the shooter.
Elected officials are pushing this diversity into the business world as well, often to the detriment of Jews.
In September 2020, California governor Gavin Newsom passed a law that requires publicly held companies headquartered in the state to include board members from underrepresented communities. That law defines “underrepresented” as “an individual who self‑identifies as Black, African American, Hispanic, Latino, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Native Hawaiian, or Alaska Native, or who self‑identifies as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender.” Jews, the most persecuted minority in the world, did not qualify, as liberals consider Jews as over-represented.
Jews are in the cross-hairs of the extreme right and left, with both groups pushing to eliminate Jews from positions of influence.
The left-wing is promoting its notion of the “myth of meritocracy.” Black people are particularly offended at Jewish advances in various fields despite systemic anti-Semitism, as it dilutes their argument. They are left with the incorrect conclusion – like Whoopi Goldberg – that Jews are inherently White and don’t suffer from real hatred the way that Blacks suffer.
Right wing extremists believe that Jews are all far left-wing nuts undermining family values and trying to import people of color to replace a White and Christian America.
The extreme right and left are coalescing into a modern Henry Ford kind of anti-Semite, where political party bends but populist anti-Semitism thrives. Both groups are targeting Jews directly and indirectly, to remove them from public fora.
The war against the Jewish State began militarily at Israel’s inception, as the armies of five Arab nations invaded Israel in 1948 in a war to annihilate it. In June 1967, the Arab world attempted the same but failed spectacularly.
Since that time, the armed conflict by Muslim countries has continued with more modest ambitions, as the goal of destroying Israel is considered too remote a possibility, unless and until Iran obtains nuclear weapons. The violent attacks against Israel have mostly been about pestering and killing Jews to obtain concessions. The 1973 Yom Kippur war ushered in a willingness for Israel to hand the Sinai Peninsula back to Egypt, and Palestinian Arabs believe that the Second Intifada War made Israel abandon the Gaza Strip. The various Hamas wars from Gaza since 2008 and the political-terrorist group’s kidnapping of Israelis, secured the release of thousands of fellow terrorists and other modest gains.
The failure to destroy Israel did not make the Muslim countries accept its existence. In fact, it has done its utmost to deny its existence.
Immediately after the 1967 Six Day War, the Arab League passed the Khartoum Resolution declaring a policy of ‘Three No’s’: “no peace with Israel, no recognition of Israel, no negotiations with it.” For the Arabs, the Jewish State had a name but was to be ignored until the Arabs could prevail at destroying the foreign presence.
In the 1970’s, the Arab League enlisted allies to their cause. Leveraging their control of the oil markets, and with a former Nazi sitting as head of the United Nations, the Muslim and Arab countries got the world to pass UNGA Resolution 3379 in November 1975 that declared that “Zionism is a form of racism.” This was an attempt to deny Israel’s legitimacy broadly.
Meanwhile, faced with the impossibility of destroying Israel, the Arabs and Muslims went after Jewish “soft targets,” like plane and boat hijackings (Dawson’s Field in 1970, Rome and Vienna airport shootings in 1985, and Achille Lauro in 1985), as well as blowing up Jewish community centers (Argentina 1994) and synagogues (Turkey 1986). If people inside Israel were too difficult to kill, the Muslim world came for the Jews around the world.
While the ‘Zionism is racism’ resolution was ultimately thrown out in 1991 due to the efforts of the United States, it simmered as the Oslo Accords of 1993 and 1995 anticipated a peace deal in September 2000. Instead of finally accepting peace, the Palestinians launched the Second Intifada War which only subsided with the erection of Israel’s security barrier in 2004-5. That led to two new movements which are unfortunately thriving today: the demonization of the Jewish State and the BDS Movement (Boycott, Divest and Sanction), both economic wars.
Demonization of Jews and Zionists
The 2001 Durban Conference against racism served as the global launch party to amplify and expand upon the prior “Zionism is racism” propaganda.
As the world no longer relied on oil as it had in the 1970’s, the Muslim Arab world hoped to convince the western world to join their war against the Jewish State based on democratic values, a sly and peculiar approach for autocratic regimes. The global conference advanced a new lexicon to vilify Israel with terms like “apartheid,” “settler-colonialism,” “ethnic cleansing,” “genocide,” and “crimes against humanity” to name a few. It similarly painted Palestinians as noble victims, misusing words like “desperate,” “resistance,” and “dignity.”
This approach is more insidious than used during the 1970’s and 1980’s which relied on far-flung violence. The violent attacks against Jews around the world by Arab Muslims made it difficult to portray the Palestinian Arabs as “desperate.” Instead, since 2001, the demonization tactic has penetrated the west through the education systems, the media and the democratic system itself.
The Arab world funneled billions of dollars and tens of thousands of students to universities including New York University, MIT, Columbia and Tufts. The donations funded Middle East Studies departments and Divinity schools with anti-Israel narratives. Due to this activity, college campuses have become hotbeds of anti-Semitism, often denying Jews the right to participate in public spaces as perceived Zionists and racists.
These young voices have been indoctrinated with a new anti-Zionist vocabulary and worldview over the past twenty years. They are now running the western liberal media, working at “human rights” organizations and voting for far-left anti-Zionist politicians endorsed by the Democrat Socialists of America.
The 2001 Durban campaign, now 20-plus years running, has been very successful in not only demonizing Israel, but demonizing Zionists. Under this current version of “Zionism is racism,” Jews in Israel and around the world are no longer only being attacked by Arab Muslims but by their fellow citizens. While the legitimacy of Israel is still being denied, the focus has expanded to Israel’s supporters.
The movement seeks to boycott not only Israeli products but those companies that do business in Israel. It wants universities to bar Israeli professors and athletes to refuse to compete with Israelis.
It has even gone after its own, turning on Arab Muslim states which normalized ties to Israel such as the United Arab Emirates.
After failing to destroy the Jewish State militarily, the Arab Muslim world has gone through three stages to destroy it economically, with the current effort enlisting global support against all Zionists
The current Muslim and Arab war against the Jewish State is being fought everywhere, as Zionists of any religion or ethnicity are falsely branded “racists” who should be canceled. The intent is to pressure people and governments everywhere to sever ties with the Jewish State, making it vulnerable and weak by every measure.
The war against Israel has mutated since the country was founded but the goal remains the same: the end of the Jewish State. What has alarmingly changed now is that YOU are being asked to participate in that anti-Semitic endeavor by your neighbors, schools, media and elected officials.
People have been celebrating important milestones in their lives like birthdays and anniversaries for centuries. Over the past decades, western society has taken to marking a day to celebrate people who have been important in our lives from mothers and fathers to secretaries and administrative professionals.
It is time to add another: Non-Bashert Day for past relationships.
While Valentine’s Day is to celebrate current relationships, Non-Bashert Day is to recognize prior relationships that helped crystalize the priorities for the current (or future) coupling.
The perfect “soul mate” in Judaism is referred to as a “bashert.” It is based on the idea that a “bashert” person was preordained by the heavens to be the ideal match. However, most people do not start with their “bashert,” and need to go through many dates and relationships to help develop the model for a perfect spouse. Dating is not weeding out the “non-basherts” until the soul mate is found, but critical to develop a framework of how to think about love, relationships and themselves.
Whether past relationships were good or bad, short-term or long-term, dating informs each person about what is needed to build a meaningful life with someone. Those people should be acknowledged.
Wishing a past boyfriend of girlfriend a happy Non-Bashert Day is not a sign that someone wants to reenter an old relationship, but an acknowledgement of the significant part in one’s life that the past friendship imbued.
Enjoy Valentine’s Day with your special someone, and consider sending a short pleasant note the next day on Non-Bashert Day to the other people who, while not appropriate for you, were nevertheless important in the direction of your life.
