Associated Press Inverts Facts And Promotes Hamas Narrative In Defending Progressive Radicals

The Associated Press produced one of its most lopsided articles when Iranian-American journalist Farnoush Amiri wrote “Progressives in Congress spoke up for a cease-fire in Gaza. Now they’re breaking fundraising records.” The article inverted fact and fiction in several ways.

SMEAR: AIPAC Targeting Progressives of Color

The journalist echoed a theme throughout her piece that the far left-wing ‘squad’ is using as a smear campaign that AIPAC is racist and a far right-wing group. Amiri’s comments included:

  • “Members of the “squad” — a group of liberals in the House — are being singled out by pro-Israel PACs like the American Israel Public Affairs Committee”
  • “turning the otherwise safely Democratic districts into election battlegrounds”
  • “cohort of Black and brown lawmakers is facing what they see as an “existential threat””
  • Muslim community has felt erased and dehumanized throughout this process”
  • “In 2022, AIPAC spent around $27 million targeting progressive candidates.”
  • ““(Muslim and Arab groups) are building an infrastructure that is financial and political and social, to fight back against AIPAC and to fight back against entities that continue to demonize them as Muslims as Arabs and as brown people,” Bowman said.”
  • ““This is versus candidates, black and brown candidates, who come from working-class backgrounds, who represent working-class districts, who do not take corporate PAC money, who rely on grassroots fundraising. So this is not a fair fight,” said Usamah Andrabi, the communications director for Justice Democrats.”

That several extremists make the statement is one thing; for a journalist to repeat the slander that AIPAC is racist without any fact-checking is dishonest journalism. It’s not even journalism; it’s simply platforming alt-left political propaganda, which in this case is purely untrue slander.

AIPAC has a long list of endorsement to women, liberals, Blacks and Hispanics and Asians. They include: Pete Aguilar (D-CA); Gabe Amo (D-RI); Nanette Barragán (D-CA); Joyce Beatty (D-OH); Stephanie Bice (R-OK); Sanford Bishop (D-GA); Marsha Blackburn (R-TN);
Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR); Shontel Brown (D-OH); Kat Cammack (R-FL); Maria Cantwell (D-WA); Yadira Caraveo (D-CO); Tony Cárdenas (D-CA); Kathy Castor (D-FL); Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR); Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL); Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ); Katherine Clark (D-MA); Yvette Clarke (D-NY); Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO); Jim Clyburn (D-SC); Angie Craig (D-MN); Henry Cuellar (D-TX).

And that’s just some of the women and minorities through the letter C!

Of of the AIPAC’s champions in Congress is a progressive Black-Latino gay man named Ritchie Torres. AIPAC was his largest backer in the 2022 election cycle.

AIPAC featuring a talk by Rep. Torres about the Iran Nuclear deal

Israel and other pro-Israel groups were enormous backers of Shontel Brown, a Black Democratic woman in Ohio. The race was widely covered in the media – but not in the latest AP hit piece smearing AIPAC as racist.

To state over-and-again that AIPAC is a racist organization without sharing some plain and public facts that show the defamation to be without merit is complicity in the slander.

SMEAR: AIPAC is an Outside Influence While The Squad Is Grassroots

The AP piece made it sound like AIPAC is a nefarious outside actor while the squad is raising money locally in a grass-roots effort to fight off a foreign evil giant.

  • “It’s a struggle that raises significant questions about who can be a Democrat in Congress, what positions are permissible about Israel and the Palestinians, and what role outside groups should have in determining both.”
  • “Candidates being targeted by the group are trying to raise awareness for what they say is AIPAC’s toxic role in Democratic primaries.”
  • “In the last quarter alone, the group was the largest donor to George Latimer, Bowman’s opponent in the Democratic primary. AIPAC gave the Westchester County executive more than $600,000, representing more than 40% of his $1.4 million in contributions so far, according to campaign finance reports filed Wednesday.”
  • “Bowman, meanwhile, managed to raise more than $730,000 in total last quarter — the majority of which his campaign says came from grassroots Arab and Muslim groups and individual donors.”
  • “Tlaib’s massive fundraising haul can largely be attributed to a grassroots effort,”
  • ““We are proud of our grassroots campaign that is bringing people together to fight for justice for all, no matter where you live or who you are,” said Carolina Toro-Román, Tlaib’s co-campaign manager.”

AIPAC is a bipartisan group and gives to both Democrats and Republicans. In 2022, it gave much more money to Democrats – an average of $38,730 per candidate in the House, compared to $20,700 on average to Republicans according to OpenSecrets. It’s a PAC like any other PAC, and there’s absolutely no issue with a bipartisan group giving money in primaries.

Further, the idea that Rep. George Latimer is taking “outside” money and not Rep. Jamaal Bowman is a complete lie. According to the latest filings, Latimer received 73% of his donations from inside the district while Bowman only received 9% locally.

The reality is that many locals gave to the Latimer campaign through the AIPAC donation portal, inflating what might be perceived as PAC money from around the country. While Bowman was collecting money from Muslims in Virginia and California, Latimer was collecting money from his constituents in Westchester.

To underscore the point, just last week, Bowman and Rep. Cori Bush reportedly teamed up to raise money in Los Angeles with people who praised the October 7 massacre of Jews as “a desperate act of self-defense.” The high-ticket affair held 3,000 miles from Bowman’s district is a sign of Bowman’s desperation for external extremist forces to drown out the moderate voices of his constituents.

IN FACT: Israel is a Liberal Cause

The reality is that Hamas is a genocidal antisemitic organization as proven by word and action. Meanwhile, Israel is a beacon of liberal values in the illiberal Middle East. Its rights for gays, minorities and women are unique in the region. It’s a leader in animal rights and the environment. In regards to freedoms, including speech, religion and assembly, it has no peers for a thousand miles.

IN FACT: Bowman Is Disliked for Many Reasons

Quite contrary to the AP article which led “They were warned that criticism of Israel’s conduct during its war on Hamas in Gaza could cost them politically,” Bowman is deeply disliked by people in his district for a wide variety of reasons and for a long period before October 7. He voted against the Infrastructure Bill, after he lambasted another Congressman for being against it. Unsatisfied with only being a hypocrite, he lied to his constituents that he voted for it.

His radical calls to “Defund the Police,” Abolish ICE,” pack the Supreme Court, push the most extreme forms of Critical Race Theory in public schools, ban charter schools, destroy the economy through issuing $14 trillion dollars of ‘reparations’ to Black people, taxing unearned capital gains and a host of other domestic policy issues have made him deeply unpopular.

Bowman’s bellicosity and race-baiting have made toxic. It was no surprise that he pulled a fire alarm, lied about it and was then appropriately censured by a bipartisan Congress.

The AP published a vile dishonest hit piece on AIPAC to platform left-wing anti-Israel propaganda. The editorial board should investigate and issue an apology.

Be A Proud DINO And Expunge Extremists

There are deeply red and deeply blue congressional districts throughout the United States. In those districts where either Joe Biden or Donald Trump won by a 30% spread, it is likely that the member of congress from that seat will be highly partisan.

It is not always the case. Passions surrounding Trump may not always correlate to the general political leanings of a district. In New York State for example, the presidential partisan spread in a district did not always correlate with the extremist voting records of the associated members of congress.

NY16D+20Jamaal Bowman-1.43612
Cook PVI analyzes the partisan spread in a district. Voting record from Lugar Center

As seen on the table above, some districts were very strongly democratic like NY8 (D+26) but elected a fairly moderate Democrat, Hakeem Jeffries, who had partisan voting record of about zero, a very balanced score which showed a spirit of bipartisanship. The same could be said of Jerry Nadler in NY12 whose district had a Cook PVI score of D+34 but Nadler’s voting record was -0.27, showing definite Democratic leaning but not an extremist.

The real outlier was NY16 with a Democratic-leaning district of D+20, the lowest of those highlighted above, showing a much more moderate populace. However, the district was represented by a left-wing extremist, Jamaal Bowman, with a -1.436 score, showing a complete rejection of bipartisanship and cooperation (barely surpassed by the queen of the squad, AOC).

New York’s District 16 will almost certainly elect a Democrat, with a ranking of D+20. The moderate Democrats, Independents and Republicans in the district understand this and want to rid the district of the left-wing extremist that currently represents them, Jamaal Bowman. Independents and Republicans are rushing to change their registration to the Democratic Party by the February 14th deadline so as to vote for a more moderate member for congress, Westchester County Executive George Latimer.

A new group called Westchester Unites opened an office on 1297 North Ave. in New Rochelle to help facilitate this change in registration. It has run a banner “antisemitism is on the ballot” because of the highly inflammatory rhetoric of Rep. Bowman against Jews and the Jewish State. While the site doesn’t specifically mention Bowman by name, his horrible reputation is well known.

The grassroot group has been effective at not only getting people registered as Democrats but to donate to the Latimer campaign. According to an analysis by local media outlet LoHud, Latimer secured 73% of his donations from people within his district while Bowman only had a paltry 9% coming from locals, showing his money is coming from extremists outside of the county.

Those same left-wing extremists backing Bowman have accused the district’s activists of creating “DINOs” meaning Democrats in Name Only. They argue that groups like Westchester Unites are gaming the system and changing the nature of the primaries.

That is because the DINOs are realists who understand that the political system is broken. The handful of people who vote in primaries really decide elections in deeply partisan districts, not the general elections in November. Further, elections favor incumbents who win endorsements from fellow incumbents in a game of self-preservation which has nothing to do with the quality of the person in office.

Despite Bowman’s incumbency, Latimer has continued to rack up endorsements of many Democratic committees in Westchester including Eastchester, Mamaroneck, Pelham, Rye, Scarsdale and White Plains. It’s quite a victory and vote of confidence for Latimer and a harsh rebuke of Bowman, who was censured by a bipartisan congress in December 2023.

The deadline for changing party is February 14, and people in Westchester County, NY are proudly becoming DINOs to rid themselves of their toxic current congressman and replace him in the primary with George Latimer.

Extreme Leftists Lie That This Is AIPAC vs. Bowman

Rep. Jamaal Bowman is an embarrassment for residents of New York’s 16th congressional district. A repeat liar and hypocrite as well as notorious race baiter, he has been censured by a bipartisan vote in congress for his shenanigans.

But, as a member of the far left-wing “Squad”, he and his powerful allies are trying their best to make him look like a vulnerable Black man being set upon by the powerful Jewish lobby, rather than a radical whom his constituents want to purge.

Consider the far-left wing site Common Dreams. They wrote an article that made it sound like the Israeli government is backing his competitor, George Latimer. “After visiting Israel last week, Westchester County Executive George Latimer on Monday filed paperwork to launch a primary challenge against Democratic New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman, a critic of the Israeli government and its devastating war on the Gaza Strip.”

That’s completely misleading. Latimer had been considering this run for office for a year and just made the announcement after a trip to Israel he took with other politicians from Westchester County where he serves as County Executive.

The anti-Israel left-wing extremist site DemocracyNow ran a piece “AIPAC Throws Millions at Possible Insurgent Campaigns to Unseat Progressive Democrats,” and highlighted “Westchester County Executive George Latimer, who has been courted by AIPAC, announced earlier today he is launching a primary challenge against New York Congressmember Jamaal Bowman.”

That’s also a lie. The people of Westchester County have been looking for someone to replace Bowman whom they feel is unfit to serve in congress for dozens of reasons. This was not an AIPAC-led recruitment.

Jacobin, a far left wing socialist site said that “Pro-Israel Billionaires Are Spending Big to Oust Socialists From Office,” and flagged Bowman as well.

While that may be partially true, there are thousands of ordinary working class people who support Latimer and want to see Bowman replaced.

Left-wing British paper The Guardian called attacks on Bowman as stemming from racism, “another attempt to silence a person of colour.” Yonkers Times echoed the theme offering “Latimer is a 70-year-old white man, while Bowman is a 47-year-old black man. Some progressive democrats in Westchester have questioned Latimer’s attempt to run against an incumbent black democratic congressman.”

That’s outrageous and without any merit. Bowman’s actions are the focus of attempts to remove him from office, not the color of his skin.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer (left), Rep. Jamaal Bowman (right)

The far left-wing is so intent on keeping an unpopular left-wing Squad extremist in office, that it is falsely maligning an experienced progressive politician as a powerful, white racist backed by billionaires and the government of Israel.

That says much more about the negative opinions of the far-left about Whites, Jews and Israel, than it does about the popular progressive George Latimer.

Is Calling Someone a ‘Nazi’ Simply a ‘Poor Choice of Words?’ Ask a Westchester Democrat

There have been few moments in history which revealed mankind’s darkest and most evil nature. Nazi Germany of the 1930s and 1940s epitomized that racist, anti-Semitic, sinister and violent corner of hell that occasionally takes control in parts of our planet.

One would imagine that calling anyone a Nazi would be reserved for the most heinous kind of villain – perhaps ISIS today that proudly tortures and beheads men, women and children. Could anyone imagine a current American politician calling out a mild-mannered fellow politician – especially one with particularly strong pro-Israel credentials – a ‘Nazi’?

Welcome to the Democratic party in Westchester, NY in 2017.

Westchester County Board of Legislators Majority Leader Catherine Borgia (D-Ossining) was upset by the action of the Republican County Executive Rob Astorino in regards to an act involving illegal activities among illegal immigrants in the county. In an email slamming Astorino, Borgia wroteIt’s the classic ‘Big Lie’ technique. All clever Nazis use it.

As detailed in the NY Post, the ‘Big Lie’ was a phrase coined by Adolf Hitler about Jews. Borgia said that Astorino was a “clever Nazi” just like Hitler in their attempts to eradicate illegal immigrants/ Jews.

The comparison was outrageous and disgraceful. As was the reaction from fellow Democrats.

State Senator George Latimer is a Democrat running for Astorino’s seat. He opted to barely address the issue and simply said that calling Astorino a Nazi was a “poor choice of words.” He didn’t condemn the statement nor use the opportunity to address anti-Semitism. He tacitly agreed to the underlying sentiment that Astorino is an anti-Semitic, racist, lying devil, but would have preferred that his Democratic colleague not use the term “Nazi.”

At a time when Democrats are up-in-arms about Donald Trump not repudiating neo-Nazis at a protest in Charlottesville, VA, how can Democrats freely call political opponents “Nazis” and then refuse to condemn the remarks?

Astorino rightly said that Borgia’s comment was not simply offensive to him, but to everyone. He asked for her to apologize to all of the people in the county.

People offended by the incident can support Astorino in his upcoming election and distance themselves from both Latimer and Borgia.
