Fire Rep. Jamaal Bowman

The June 25 New York Democratic Party primary will pit Westchester County Executive George Latimer who was endorsed by numerous fire fighting organizations, against Rep. Jamaal Bowman, who was censured by a bipartisan Congress for pulling a fire alarm, thereby putting thousands of lives at risk.

Bowman has also called to “Defund the Police” and mocked the rape of Jewish women in Israel on the streets of White Plains. Had anyone in a non-elected governmental position conducted themselves in such a dangerous manner, they would have been fired from their job.

Some organizations and people – like J Street and Mondaire Jones – have pulled their endorsements of the disgraced congressman. Others are petitioning Planned Parenthood to pull their endorsement of the rape denier. We should demand that everyone – including House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries – pull their endorsement, even though Bowman is an incumbent.

It will be up to the voters of New York’s 16th Congressional District to get out the vote for George Latimer on June 25. A request for a mail in ballot must be received by June 15.
